Crochet Pattern: Gift Card Holder

I love Christmas and shopping for the perfect gift for everyone on my list. It’s a special time of year to show those close to you how much they really mean to you. I have several people on my list who love crafting as much as I do. Since we all dabble in about a 101 different projects at a time it’s sometimes hard to know what supplies to buy and stick beneath the tree. So, for the yarn lovers I crocheted this gift card holder that will be home to a gift card from one of my favorite yarn shops. This quick project adds a handmade touch that your creative friends are sure to love!

Skill Level:

Finished Size: 4 1/2″ (11 cm) long and 3″ (8 cm) wide

Materials:
Red Medium Weight Yarn (approximately 45 yards)
Green Medium Weight Yarn (approximately 1 yards)
Crochet Hook H (5 mm)
Upholstry Needle
Sewing Needle
Green Thread
Scissors
crochet yarn size 4

Gauge:
4 sc stitches = 1 inch (3 cm)
2 sc rows = 1 inch (3 cm)

Crochet Pattern: Gift Card Holder

Red Package (make 2)
Row 1: Ch 10, sc in 3rd ch from hook (ch 2 counts as one sc now and throughout) and in each ch across: 8 sc
Row 2-12: ch 2 turn, sc in each sc across
Finish Off.

Green Ribbon (make 2)
Ch 30 and finish off for the lengthwise piece, and then ch 28 and finish off for the second piece.

Assembly
Using red yarn and an upholstery needle whip stitch the two pieces of the package together.
Then, using thread and needle sew on the two green pieces of “ribbon” creating a cross.

Hanging Loop
Using red, sl st yarn into the corner of the package and ch 12. Sl st back into the same corner and finish off.
