Crochet Pattern: French Macaroon

They are so beautiful in shades of mint green, pink and chocolate. Each one gracefully rests upon the other encased in apothecary jars. I love to stop at the bakery and just admire every little detail they add to their baked goods. So, for those of you who are tempted by macaroons like I am, here’s a crochet pattern just for you. Your kids are sure to love them almost as much as the real thing. |  |

Finished Size: 1″ (3 cm) high and 2 1/2″ (6 cm) diameter

Materials: Mint Baby Yarn (approximately 40 yards) White Baby Yarn (approximately 20 yards) Crochet Hook H (5 mm) Polyester Fiberfill Scissors |

Gauge:
Round 1 in pattern measures 1/2 inch (1 cm) in diameter.

Crochet Pattern: Macaroon
Make 2, Using Green
Round 1: with green, ch 3, sl st in first chain made to form a ring, ch 1, 8 sc in ring, sl st in top of beginning ch-1: 8 sc
Round 2-3: ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around, sl st in top of beginning ch-1
Round 4: ch 1, 1 sc in each sc around, sl st in top of beginning ch-1: 32 sc
Round 5: ch 1, (sc in next sc, skip next sc) around, sl st in top of beginning ch-1: 16 sc
Finish off.
Finishing
Shape both “cookie pieces” into a little dome. Then, using white yarn, sl st into both cookies to join the yarn, 2 sc in each sc around, being sure to catch both cookies. Leave a small opening and stuff with filling. Then continue to sc around to join the two pieces. Finish off.
