Crochet Pattern: Pencil Bookmark
By Emilee Gettle – 4 CommentsIn just a few short weeks it will be time to get the kids back to school! Have you seen all the school supplies flooding into the aisle at the stores? As a kid I was always excited by the back to school goodies. I couldn’t wait to crack open that new box of crayons and take a big whiff of their wonderful waxy aroma. You can’t forget the smell of a pencil being sharpened, no matter how long it has been since you were sitting behind a desk. So, this week, I pulled out my fingering yarn and crocheted this pencil bookmark to keep your place! |

Hi Emilee! I think this pattern is wonderful! I have been looking for something quick and easy to crochet up for a school fete and I am wondering if you would mind if I used this pattern to make some pencil bookmarks to donate to the school. I would not be making money on them but the school (hopefully) would, to help purchase those little extra things that the schools budget doesn’t cover. I do not want to do this if you have an aversion to people selling things they make from your pattern. Is that ok with you?
I too remember the smells of school days, including the smell of a new box of crayons. No other sense connects use more to memories than our sense of smell.
This will be a great project for the elementary kids to make. They love to show off their crochet stuff they make at school.
Thank You, Emilee! What a wonderful idea for teacher’s gifts.
