This is a nice, thick, coaster with a ruffle for a more feminine touch. The center is nice and flat so you can sit your glass on it without worrying about ruining the ruffle effect. It is easy to make, and you can work up a whole set in a flash. Have fun with this pattern, and be sure to make a bunch in different colors!

Finished Size: 5″ (12.5 cm) diameter

Materials: Bulky Weight Yarn (approximately 35 yards) Crochet Hook I (5.5 mm) Crochet Hook J (6.0 mm)

Gauge:
Rounds 1 – 3 in pattern measure 2 3/4″ (7 cm) in diameter

Crochet Pattern: Ruffled Coaster
Round 1: with size I hook, make an adjustable ring, ch 1, 8 sc in ring, sl st in beg ch-1 to join: 8 sc
Round 2: ch 3, 2 dc in each sc around, sl st in top of beg ch: 16 dc
Round 3: ch 3, (2 dc in each of next 3 dc, dc in next dc) around, sl st in top of beg ch: 28 dc
Round 4: With size J hook, ch 3, (2 dc in next dc, ch 1), sl st in top of beg ch: 84 sts
Finish off.
