There are so many cute hair accessories in the stores now. The prices range from super cheap to out of this world expensive. I enjoy traveling to craft shows where home businesses sell their handmade goods. I’ve seen many takes on the crocheted headband. This pattern is my own twist by making lace and weaving a satin ribbon through it. The ends of the ribbon work perfect for tying on the headband. These crochet up ultra fast and are great for adults and kids alike. Make several while watching TV to sell at craft shows and bazaars in the spring!

Skill Level:

Finished Size: 15 1/2″ (39 cm) long and 1″ (3 cm) wide

Materials: Medium Weight Yarn (approximately 25 yards) Crochet Hook H (5.00 mm) 41″ (104 cm) Satin Ribbon Craft Glue

Gauge:
1 sc and 1 space = 1 3/4” (4 cm)

Crochet Pattern: Lace and Ribbon Headband
Row 1: ch 52, sc in second ch from hook, *ch 2, skip 1 ch, sc in next ch, repeat from * 24 more times, finish off.

Finishing
Weave the satin ribbon through the spaces in the crocheted headband, leaving an equal length of ribbon at each end for tying. Tie a knot to secure the ribbon in place on each end of the crocheted lace. Cut ribbon ends at an angle to prevent fraying, or dip in glue to seal the ends.
