Finished Size: 7″ (18 cm) long
First Square: 3/4″ (2 cm)
Second Square:1 ” (2.5 cm)
Materials: Size 10 crochet Thread (approximately 25 yards) Crochet Hook B (2.25 mm) |
Gauge:
Rounds 1-2 in pattern measure 3/4″ (2 cm) square

Crochet Pattern: Two Square Bookmark
First Square
Round 1: make adjustable ring, ch 3, 8 dc in ring, sl st in top of beginning ch-3: 8 dc
Round 2: ch 1, (sc in next dc, 3 sc in next dc) around, sl st in beginning ch-1: 16 sc
Do not finish off, continue with chain.
Chain
Row 1: sl st in first 2 sc, ch 51: 51 ch
Do not finish off, continue with second square.
Second Square
Round 1: 8 sc in second ch from hook, sl st in beginning ch-1: 8 sc
Round 2: ch 1, (sc in next sc, ch 3, skip 1 sc) around, sl st in beginning ch-1: 16 sts
Round 3: ch 1, (sc in next sc, 5 sc in next ch-space) around, sl st in beginning ch-1: 24 sc
Round 4: ch 1, (sc in next 3 sc, ch 3, skip 1 sc, sc in next 2 sc) around: 32 sts
Finish off.

Candace, this bookmark is a REAL WINNER!! Often times bookmarks, make with crochet thread or embroidery floss is somewhat thick. Your “chained” squares solve that problem for me. Thanks much for sharing. :o)
I can totally see this with just the bigger square with a pearl sewn in the middle of it with a rose colored ribbon sewn to the back of the square :o) Do I have permission to do mine that way, please?
