Finished Size: 2″ (5 cm) tall, 1 1/2″ (4 cm) wide
Materials: Size 5 thread (approximately 5 yards of each color) Crochet Hook C (2.75 mm) |
Gauge:
Rounds 1 – 8 in pattern measures 2″ (5 cm) tall by 1 1/2″ (4 cm) wide

Crochet Pattern: Coffee Mug Applique
Mug
Round 1: with coffee color, make adjustable ring, ch 1, 8 sc in ring, sl st in first sc: 8 sc
Round 2: ch 3, [2 dc in next sc, (hdc, sc) in next sc, (sc, hdc) in next sc, 2 dc in next sc] 2 times, sl st in first dc: 16 sts
Round 3: change to mug color, ch 1, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 2 times: 20 sc
Row 4: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc now and throughout), skip first sc, dc in next sc, hdc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc, hdc in next sc, dc in next 2 sc: 10 sts
Rows 5-7: ch 3, turn, skip first st, dc in each dc across, dc in top of beginning ch-3: 10 dc
Row 8: ch 1, sc in first 2 dc, hdc in next dc, dc in next 4 dc, hdc in next dc, sc in last 2 dc: 10 sts
Finish off.
Handle
Row 1: with mug color, ch 5, 3 sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, 3 sc in last ch: 8 sc
Finish off and sew handle to side of mug.
