There’s been a lot of spinning talk around here lately, and since I’ve been getting more spinning done, it’s time I used more of my handspun up. This yarn called for texture, so I chose cables, and it is easy to adjust the sizing. Not a spinner? Don’t worry! While the pattern was written for my handspun, it will work for any comparable solid-colored or semisolid yarn–handspun or commercial.

Skill Level:

Finished Size: 6 1/2″ (16.5 cm) long, 7″ (cm) circumference

Materials: Fine Weight Yarn (approximately 75 yards) Crochet Hook G (4.00 mm)

Gauge:
7 dc = 2’’
4 rows = 2’’
Gauge Swatch: 2’’w x 2’’h (5 cm x 5 cm) ch 10.
Row 1: dc in fourth ch from hook and in each ch across: 7 dc
Row 2 – 4: ch 3, turn, dc in each dc across: 7 dc
Finish off.

Special Stitches
FCTC (Front-Crossed Treble Cable): skip 2 sts, fptr in next 2 sts, tr in skipped sts with hook in back
BCTC (Back-Crossed Treble Cable): skip 2 sts, tr in next 2 sts, fptr in skipped sts with hook in front

Left Glove:
Round 1: ch 26, sl st in first ch, ch 3, dc in each ch around, sl st in first dc: 26 dc
Round 2-8: ch 3, (fpdc in next dc, dc in next dc) around, sl st in first dc: 26 dc
Round 9: ch 3, dc in first 8 dc, FCTC, dc in next 2 dc, BCTC, dc in last 8 dc, sl st in first dc: 26 sts
Round 10: ch 3, dc in first 8 dc, fpdc in next 2 dc, dc in next 6 dc, fpdc in next 2 dc, dc in last 8 dc, sl st in first dc: 26 dc
Round 11-14: repeat rows 9 and 10
Round 15: ch 3, dc in first 2 dc, ch 4, skip 4 sts, dc in next 2 dc, FCTC, dc in next 2 dc, BCTC, dc in last 8 dc, sl st in first dc: 26 sts
