Materials: Medium Weight Yarn (approximately 50 yards – use cotton yarn for good absorbency) Crochet Hook J (6.00 mm) |

Crochet Pattern: Dishcloth
Row 1: ch 24, dc in sixth ch from hook, (ch 1, skip 1 ch, dc in next ch) across: 10 dc
Row 2 – 9: ch 4, turn, (skip 1 ch, dc in next dc, ch 1) across, skip 1 ch, dc in next ch: 10 dc
Finish off.

My 89 year old mother want so make dish scrubbies and can’t find the yarn. I have one and have taken it to yarn shop every around and can’t find it. She says she used to get it at Micheal’s but they don’t have it. Do you have any idea’s?

You can try looking online, sometimes they have yarn that isn’t in the stores.
You want tulle like what bridal veils are made of . Or netting. Should be able to buy tulle by the yard where ever you buy material.
Look for Needloft nylon plastic canvas yarn. This is what I use. It works great. Mt daughter asks for these scrubbies for every gift occasion on the calendar.
What does 4 medium mean in relation to materials used? Thanks.

Walmart carries the100% cotton yarn.
I am making a few of these and a couple of other washcloth patterns and giving them to my mom for Christmas. Thanks for the great pattern and idea.
Hi Rachael, I used to crochet 20 years or so ago. I copied down your pattern for the crocheted dish cloth. I do not remember how to decrease although I do have a book with pictures. ‘dc’ = double crochet, not decrease. Hope that you figured it out.

Hi KP, for row 1 “(ch 1, skip 1 ch, dc in next ch) across” means to chain 1, then skip 1 chain, then make a double crochet in the next chain. Since these instructions are within the ( ) you will repeat them until you reach the end.

Rachel, I don’t mean to be naggy but I’ve recently had the time to attempt to make this. Mine looks NOTHING like this.
Walmart is where I find my cotton yarn…..works great!
