We’ve covered a lot of things you can do with a yarn and Afghan hook, but one thing has definitely been missing: afghans! If you like blankets, why not start hooking up squares to put together in an Tunisian/Afghan afghan? Try this simple 6-inch square with an eyelet pattern that looks like a butterfly. It’s an easy pattern for anyone familiar with Tunisian crochet.

Finished Size: 6″ (15 cm) wide, 6″ (15 cm) tall

Skill Level:

Materials: Medium Weight Yarn (approximately 20 yards ) Crochet Hook L (8.0 mm)

Gauge:
6 TSS = 2’’
4 rows = 2’’
Gauge Swatch: 2’’w x 2’’h (5 cm x 5 cm) ch 7.
Row 1: Forward pass: pull up loop in second ch from hook and in each ch across
Return pass: ch 1, (YO, pull through 2 loops) across until 1 loop remains on hook: 6 TSS
Row 2 – 4: TSS in each TSS across: 6 TSS
Finish off.
