Crochet these soap savers to place your soap bars (or pieces of soap) into to create a nice lather. Soap savers are great for using up every bit of soap and preventing the soap from slipping out of your hand in the shower.

Finished Size: 4″ (10 cm) tall, 2 3/4″ (7 cm) wide, when flat. Soap savers will stretch.
Size may be adjusted using the instructions within the pattern.

Materials: Medium Weight Yarn (approximately 50 yards of each color) Crochet Hook J (6.00 mm) |

Hey Rachel! I love your site and patterns! They are so easy to follow and I’m having a hard time sticking to one project at a time. 😀 I’m currently crocheting a bunch of your patterns to give away as prizes at my baby shower next week.
I’m wondering what kind of yarn you would suggest for making the soap savers? Do you know if acrylic would lather better than cotton? I’m kinda running out of time so probably won’t be able to test them. Thanks in advance for your advice. 🙂

Hi Julia! I’m not sure if acrylic would lather better than cotton, but it will lather. The rougher acrylic yarns, like Red Heart, would give a minor scrubbing feeling compared to most cottons that are softer.

Should these be changed and cleaned every so often to prevent mold and stuff? If so, how often?
Hi Tracy! It depends on how humid your bathroom is. Mine never got mold and I never really washed it. I just rised it off every now and then in the shower with the last bits of soap from the bar. You can definately toss then in the washing machine whenever they start to look too dirty though.
