Advice for Readers from a Reader
By A Guest Writer – 7 CommentsThe following is a Guest Post by Kitty, a Crochet Spot reader.
Hi, Ladies and Gentlemen,
You all love Crochet Spot, right? Have you poked around the Store where you purchase patterns? Sure, there are plenty of freebies Rachel and others so generously share, but you really need to take a peek at the patterns you can purchase. I began looking and decided to buy the Membership. How often do we buy a crochet magazine for one pattern? Here at Crochet Spot, you buy what you want. The BIG added bonus is that if you get stuck, or something is not quite clear, you’re given help. Darn, that’s as good as having a private crochet tutor! I’ve just downloaded the Christmas gift bag patterns…too cute AND useful.
Hope you’ll at least take a look around the “storeâ€!
Sincerely,
Kitty
I used to be one of those people who never bought patterns online. But I agree with Kitty. There are some really nice patterns in Crochet Spot’s store that are totally worth it. Like Kitty said, just think of a book or magazine you may buy at a store and then only use one or two patterns. Since you buy patterns individually and not an entire book, you’re not waisting money on all the patterns you’re not using. That membership option is also a steal, by the way.
I’m recommend checking out the store too, even if it is just to look around.
Nah, there are plenty of amazing free patterns that I would rather use
The crochet magazine analogy doesn’t work. If I buy a magazine for $5, I get, like, 10 patterns. But I pay $5 here, I get ONE pattern. Therefore, I’d rather get the magazine.
I’m signed up for the membership too! Just to let others know, the membership is only $10 per month and you can basically download as many patterns as you want (there are 100s in that store). I use a lot of crochet spot patterns, so it’s worth it for me. It’s actually a better deal than magazines lol
I agree with Wendy.
I have been downloading the free patterns, but as soon as I have more time to actually spend crocheting I will sign up as at the moment it would be a kind of a waste. But it is a really good site – l love the columns and conversations.
I have the membership and love it! I download at least 2 patterns a month. For those of you who say you’d rather get the full magazine well i think you’re missing the point that the crochet spot gives us new information just about everyday and that our membership helps support the site and those who maintain it, much like a magazine subscription or one time purchase of a magazine supports the magazine. I can’t begin to imagine the amount of work and expense that goes into maintaining a site such as this.
A little advice….the title should read “Advice for Readers…..” Sorry, I am a grammar fanatic.
