Crochet Pattern: Circles and Squares Blanket

Posted in Best Crochet Patterns on January 3rd, 2016 by Rachel Choi – 3 Comments

This blanket is made up of two types of motifs: a circle in a square, and concentric squares in a square. The motifs are sewn together, then a finishing border is crocheted around it. Crocheted with multiple colors, this blanket creates a fun pattern that is great for baby and children’s blankets but can also be used for larger adult blankets. The pattern includes instructions for various sizes ranging from baby size to king bedspread. Choose bright colors for a bold look, or neutral colors for a more subtle blanket. The blanket makes a unisex pattern. For a gender specific blanket simply choose the colors that you like.

Crochet Pattern: Warm Winter Capelet (9 Sizes)

Posted in Best Crochet Patterns on December 27th, 2015 by Rachel Choi – Be the first to comment

Winter is a wonderful season… as long as you’re warm. This capelet is just what you need to crochet and wear to keep your upper torso warm this season. The capelet looks great whether dressed up or down. The capelet is my favorite accessory when wearing dresses in the winter, especially if the dress has short or no sleeves. You can even crochet it in white and wear it with a winter wedding dress! The capelet is designed with beginner crocheters in mind. Bulky weight yarn and a large crochet hook makes this project relatively quick to crochet and creates a thick, warm fabric. This pattern has 9 sizes, ranging from women’s X-Small to a plus size 5X. Feel free to make the capelet as long or short as you desire.

Crochet Pattern: 3 Solid Blanket Stitches

Posted in Best Crochet Patterns on December 20th, 2015 by Rachel Choi – Be the first to comment

Here are three of my favorite blanket stitches that create a solid fabric without large holes and can be crocheted using just one color. Solid colored blankets are great if you aren’t in the mood to change yarn colors every row, but feel free to crochet the blankets in multiple colors if you prefer. The solid fabric is great for babies and also great if you want a warmer blanket without the holes. This set includes the bubble, shell, and chevron stitch blanket patterns. Each pattern has a unique border to give each blanket a finished look. The patterns include instructions for making the blankets any size you wish, from small baby blankets to large bedspreads to any size in between.

Crochet Pattern: Animal Gift Card Holders

Posted in Best Crochet Patterns on December 13th, 2015 by Rachel Choi – Be the first to comment

Gift cards are great gifts, but something seems lacking when you give them in regular envelopes or ordinary paper cards. For an extra special touch, crochet one of these cute animals to hold your gift card. Each animal is crocheted seamlessly in the round from the top down, amigurumi style. The small parts are sewn on in addition to the pocket on the back of the animal that holds the gift card. The pocket can also hold small presents, such as candy, or jewelry. The pattern contains 6 popular animals for you to crochet: bear, bunny rabbit, cat, dog, elephant, and lion.

Crochet Pattern: Vertical Eyelet Poncho (9 Sizes)

Posted in Best Crochet Patterns on December 6th, 2015 by Rachel Choi – 2 Comments

This poncho has a classic look that will look great on all different body shapes and sizes this winter! The poncho is crocheted from the top down, seamlessly in the round, in one piece, creating rows of eyelets as you go. The eyelets not only create a simple and beautiful pattern, but helps the crocheter easily keep track of where increases are made. The ribbing texture along the cowl neck collar and the bottom edge of the poncho create a contrast to the lighter feel of the poncho’s body. The light (sport) weight yarn used in this pattern creates a nice, easy drape in the poncho’s body. The pattern includes 9 sizes, ranging from women’s X-Small to 5X, and also includes instructions for adjusting the size if you are in between sizes or simply want a custom fitted poncho.

Crochet a balaclava for the winter weather. Use it as a ski mask while skiing, snowboarding, or tubing. Wear it during cold winter hikes or any other outdoor activity. The pattern is designed so that it can easily be crocheted in different colors to create your own stripe design, or in a solid color for a traditional look. Crocheted from the top down, in the round, the balaclava is easy to crochet. The pattern includes 4 sizes ranging from small children to large adults.

Crochet Pattern: Braided Fingerless Gloves

Posted in Best Crochet Patterns on November 15th, 2015 by Rachel Choi – Be the first to comment
These fingerless gloves have a cable look, without having to crochet a cable. The braid down the center of the glove is the focal point and creates interesting texture. Feel free to make the braid in multiple colors or in a solid color as shown in the sample photo. Fingerless gloves are great for keeping your hands and wrists warm, while still giving your the dexterity you need from your fingers. These wrist warmers are designed to fit most women, but if a wider or narrower circumference is needed, simply crochet more or less rows on the sides. crochet braided fingerless gloves wrist warmers

Crochet Pattern: Lacy Chevron Table Runner

Posted in Best Crochet Patterns on November 8th, 2015 by Rachel Choi – Be the first to comment
This table runner uses one of my favorite stitch patterns. It’s made with a chevron stitch that you can work all in one color, or in multiple colors if you desire. The rows alternate between solid and lace to give you a modern yet still lacy look. The pattern includes instructions for adjusting the size as you see fit. Make it as wide and as long as you like in order to fit your table. The table runner in the sample photo uses an ordinary medium/worsted weight yarn, but it would also look great using thinner yarns to give it a more delicate feel. crochet lacy chevron table runner

Crochet Pattern: Elf Baby Cocoon with Hat

Posted in Best Crochet Patterns on November 1st, 2015 by Rachel Choi – 1 Comment
The elf baby cocoon and hat would make a cute photo prop for your Christmas themed baby pictures. Use this in your baby’s newborn photo shoot or in other Christmas themed photos. You can also use this cocoon set as a baby costume. It would look great on both boys and girls. The cozy cocoon is crocheted from the bottom up with various color changes required as you go. The hat is crocheted from the top down and the pointy elf ears are sewn on afterwards. If using the cocoon and hat as an everyday accessory, feel free to leave off the bells on the hat. crochet elf baby cocoon and hat
