Torchy Blane is a fictional character from the 30’s that inspired the Lois Lane character for Superman. Both are avid newspaperwomen who will stop at nothing to get a story. Glenda Farrell plays Torchy Blane in a few of the films of that time, and in it she wears a hat that has, for me, become the symbol of a woman of the press. With this pattern I have sought to replicate that style, complete with an upturned brim and hat band in the form of a long ribbon. All you need to know to crochet this hat are the basics. Enjoy, and let me know what you think in the comments below! |

These super quick slippers can be crocheted in one sitting. Using a large crochet hook and super bulky weight yarn, these slippers will be nice and warm to wear this winter. The slippers are crocheted from the toe up, in one piece, so that no sewing is required. Instructions are written out for 9 different sizes, U.S. women sizes 4 – 12. Since everyone has different feet, there are also instructions for customizing the slippers in case you want a tighter or looser fit. Feel free to decorate your slippers with cute flower appliques or fun buttons. You can even add you own straps to the slippers if desired.

We all know the Robin Hood legends. Some say he was a knight returning from the Crusades to find his home and lands confiscated by the traitorous Prince John. And then there are others that say he is a simple villager who ended up an outlaw through a more simple incident of injustice. Here is a hat designed to look just like the style depicted on many Robins through the years. It is worked all at once with no seaming or special shaping. Make your next cosplay outfit the man (or woman) in lincoln green! |

Here’s a lacy and dainty take on the popular chevron pattern that uses only one color. Of course you can use multiple colors if desired, but this chevron pattern is still visible with a single color since it alternates solid rows with lacy rows. The pattern contains instructions for adjusting the size of the scarf, so you can make it as big or small as desired. You can even make it into an elegant shawl wrap! Feel free to crochet the scarf with your favorite yarn, thick or thin. The thinner yarns will give more drape.

This doily pattern fits well on a side table or small coffee table. It can also be used as a placemat. The doily is light and lacy despite using light weight yarn instead of traditional crochet thread. The style blends modern and vintage with easy crochet stitches in an old-fashioned style. |

This crochet pouf is easy to make! The pattern uses a big hook and thick, super bulky yarn. Crochet this pouf as one solid piece, or crochet it as a removable cover so that you can wash it easily when it gets dirty. Want a bigger or smaller pouf? No problem, this pattern has instructs for adjusting the size to make the pouf as big or small as you desire. Make it as tall or wide as you like! The pattern will also instruct on different filling and stuffing options to use so that you can choose one that you prefer.
