Crochet Pattern: Quick Storage Basket

Here is a quick basket pattern to solve your storage needs! The basket is crocheted in the round from the bottom up. You can make it as big or as small as you like using the instructions within the pattern to adjust its size. Make it big enough to use as a laundry basket or small enough to fit perfectly on a cube shelf. Being able to adjust the width and length of the basket makes the possibilities endless! The sample basket in the photo uses a variegated yarn to create a quick colorful basket, but feel free to use a solid color or multiple colors if desired.

Previously, I shared with you my collection of nautical themed coasters. This week I would like to introduce my latest collection of coasters, the Beach Life set. It is comprised of a sea star, sea urchin, scallop, and clam. I write on marine science when I am not crocheting, so forgive me if I get a little geeky with the details. Each one is a quick project that I guarantee will be a lot of fun! Beach Life Coaster Set

Crochet Pattern: Striped Eyelet Wrap Sweater

Posted in Best Crochet Patterns on July 25th, 2015 by Rachel Choi – 1 Comment
This is an easy pattern that creates a sweater by wrapping a single, long, rectangular wrap around your body. The stitch pattern used to create the wrap is one of my favorites. Alternating between solid rows and mesh rows, the fabric created is a great combination of being lacy and solid, so that it drapes easily. A photo tutorial is included for wrapping the wrap around the body to create the sweater look. This wrap sweater can be made to fit any body shape and size! Feel free to use any weight of yarn you desire, to create a thick or thin sweater.

Crochet Pattern: Nautical Coaster Set

Years ago I visited a home where the living room was decorated with a nautical theme. Being a nautical enthusiast and self-proclaimed maritime expert, I would do the same to my own room given half the chance. Coasters are necessities for protecting furniture from the inevitable danger posed by cups of liquids. Here are four nautical themed patterns for coasters. A ship’s wheel, coiled rope, a compass, and a sail, all quick to make and the best of fun. I’d love to know what you think! Nautical Coasters Set

Crochet Pattern: Square Scrubbie Set

These multipurpose scrubbies are great to have on hand. Use them as a dishcloth to scrub your dishes, clean your counter tops, stove, and all areas of your house. You can also use them as washcloths for kids or adults while bathing. Toss them in your washing machine when they get too dirty so that you can reuse them again and again. The small squares fit great in the palm of your hand, but if you want a larger or smaller size the scrubbies can easily be adjusting by following the instructions within the pattern. Each scrubbie has a loop at its corner so that it can easily be hung to dry. crochet square scrubbie set

Crochet a set of baby mittens to help with scratching or to give a little extra warmth to the hands. This light weight set is a great alternative to traditional crochet baby mittens, which may be too thick and hot. Thumb-less baby mittens are easy and fast to crochet. These simple patterns can be crocheted in a variety of boy and girl colors to add to a baby’s wardrobe. The mittens are crocheted in the round and elastic is crocheted into the mittens at the cuffs so that the mittens will stay on when baby arms are wiggling. crochet light baby mittens
