In the era of flapper dresses and the Charleston, the cloche became popular and is still so today. In this modernized version, you use bulky yarn and a large hook for a quick and easy project. True to the fit of the cloche, this hat will fit close to the head with a slightly flared brim stopping just above the eyes. This pattern includes instructions for 5 different sizes, from baby to large adult. Make some for every girl in your life and bring back the “good ol’ days”. |

What inspires you to start your next crochet project? A pattern, a stitch, or is it the yarn? Most of the time, I have a design in mind and then the stitch and yarn follow. But with this Hyacinth Cowl, it was reversed. I noticed this yarn from Red Heart called Boutique Unforgettable in Petunia and I new I wanted to use it for something light and wispy. I came up with this stitch pattern which features a combination of chains, single crochets, and double crochets. In no time at all, I finished this wispy cowl and you can too! |

This crochet pattern can be used to create square or rectangle placemats of any size by adjusting the number of stitches and rows. This stitch pattern creates a small, narrow basketweave look that looks great crocheted in any color. Crochet a whole set of placemats for your next dinner party!

Here is a scarf pattern for the chevron lovers! This scarf is designed with a sharp, solid, chevron stitch pattern. The infinity scarf is a generous loop that can be worn flat, or wrapped around the neck two times to create a thick cowl look. When the cold season blows in we begin getting out the winter blankets and decorations. At my house, the tablecloth is changed from the autumn red to winter blue and adorned with snowflake placemats and a handpainted candle holder. Normally, we leave the autumn couch throw until spring but this year I am introducing this new afghan to the room. It has a wide range of blue tones from the yarn to the embroidered snowflakes, an exciting technique for the stripes, and tassels for the finishing touch. I had a lot of fun designing this throw and I’m hoping you will have just as much making it! |

Here’s a great pattern for both keeping your ears warm this winter and stretching your crochet skills. Subtle cables twist at different points, and though they only show on one side, the cables are actually worked on both the right and wrong side. The circumference of the ear warmer can be adjusted by crocheting more of less rows as needed. |

Years ago I found a book on crochet snowflakes that inspired me to learn more and get back into crocheting. My reasons then were so that I could make snowflakes, and here I am today making a variety of crocheted projects. I want to offer you these three original snowflake patterns. Stiffen them and hang them from your tree or give them as gifts to friends and family. The thing about snowflakes is, you never can make just one! |

Crochet this super comfy poncho for extra warmth in the winter. With it’s oversized fit, it would look great with leggings. The pattern features subtle stripes by alternating 2 similar stitch patterns, one slightly more textured than the other. The poncho can be crocheted to fit any sized woman using the instructions within the pattern to adjust its width and length. The cowl neck can also be lengthened to create a thicker cowl or removed all together.
