Crochet Pattern: Iced Bolero

Boleros and shrugs are excellent choices for tank tops or simple long sleeves, and even lovelier with summer dresses or formal gowns. Many people like to add them as the finishing touch to their already exquisite wedding dress. Make this Iced Bolero by crocheting a simple rectangle and partially stitching two sides together. Using a medium weight yarn, work a lovely, loose stitch and end with a slightly loopy border. An easy project for a few hours work of crochet! crochet iced bolero

There’s a new crochet pattern in the Crochet Spot Store! This warm and snugly cowl features simple shaping that allows it to be worn around the neck or pulled up over the head as a hood without too much bulk under the chin – despite the very bulky yarn. Break out your chunkiest, squishiest yarn (and finally put that huge plastic hook to use) for a warm and cozy project.

Crochet Pattern: Bumblebee Dishtowel Set

Posted in Best Crochet Patterns on October 12th, 2014 by Amy Yarbrough – Be the first to comment
With a wedding on the horizon, I asked my friend what colors she wanted in her new kitchen. She responded with yellow and black. These two colors, sometimes mixed with white, has met with popularity in home decor and fashion, among other areas. My decision to make her dishtowels was an easy one. Dishtowels make wonderful gifts for anyone, especially those setting out to make a new home. Plus they are handmade and should last many years to come. This set includes patterns for a diamond stitch, chevron stitch pattern, and the ever-loving granny stitch. Designed for three colors, choose any that suit your taste and have fun making all three dishtowel patterns! crochet bumblebee dishtowel set

Crochet Pattern: Cabled Tunisian Cowl

Posted in Best Crochet Patterns on October 5th, 2014 by Candace – 1 Comment
Arguably, the best part of being a crocheter (or knitter, even) is having more options when it comes to warm accessories to face the coming cold weather. And when those options include cables, it’s even better. This cabled cowl is worked flat with the ends seamed together, so there’s no need for double-ended hooks. This pattern gives a knitted look, but with crochet! crochet cable tunisian cowl

Crochet Pattern: Sorbet Baby Blanket

Posted in Best Crochet Patterns on September 25th, 2014 by Amy Yarbrough – 1 Comment
Crocheting baby blankets are something special to me. The fact that it is handmade trumps store bought every time. I enjoy spending time thinking about the pattern and creating it specifically for the new baby. It’s a tradition that many crocheters like to keep. This blanket has a simple but beautiful stitch pattern and a frilly border that is just the right touch. I chose to work it with Bernat Baby Coordinates’ Posy Patch, but any baby yarn, variegated or solid, will work just as well. crochet sorbet baby blanket

This interlocking diamond stitch is perfect for Lion Brand Amazing yarn and a large hook. The result is a lightweight cowl that sits gently around the neck, producing the proper drape (for more on drape see our article Discovering Drape in Crochet). Being easy to work up, as well as enjoyable, makes this pattern a great choice for anyone. Wear it in cool weather to accessorize your spring or fall attire, or pair it with a sweater for extra style and warmth. You can even wear it on a summer day with a tank, if you wish, it’s that lightweight. Be inventive and enjoy crocheting! crochet wildflower cowl

The diamond eyelet stitch pattern is one of my favorites! I’ve used it to make scarves and clothing, but it also makes a great blanket stitch. This simple, repetitive stitch pattern is easy to crochet and creates a classic look. With this pattern you can create a blanket that is any size you desire, from baby blankets to bed spreads.
