Crochet Pattern: Doll Basket

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on June 10th, 2015 by Amy Yarbrough – 3 Comments
Sometimes the most enjoyable things to make are the ones that only take a few minutes. Then again, it might be simply because they are often small projects. After crocheting an extensive pattern it’s helpful to come back to the little things. It’s refreshing and re-inspiring! This doll basket can easily be paired with any outfit, but I suggest would make a good addition to the Doll Peasant Dress just recently posted. It only takes a minute to make using basic crochet techniques. I hope you like it as much as I do! Doll Basket

Crochet Pattern: Vintage Tiara Headband

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on May 15th, 2015 by Amy Yarbrough – 5 Comments
Quite a few decades ago a person wouldn’t walk out of the house without a hat — man, woman, or child. Hair pieces for women were plentiful and varied, worn when going out or at home. Barrettes, tiaras, headbands, clips of every sort. It’s a lost era, I’m sorry to say. But who says we can’t bring it back! This tiara-style headband is fashioned after the hair pieces of the early 1900’s. Women wore their hair wavy and put up neatly with accessories like this one. Now you can make your own; it’s terribly simple and very glamorous! Vintage Tiara Headband

Crochet Pattern: Démodé Summer Cowl

–Pattern has been corrected!–
When the weather begins to grow warm you might hesitate to wear some of your crocheted accessories. The answer? Crochet lacier projects and you won’t have to sacrifice your style. This cool summer cowl has an antique lace look, hence the French name for “old-fashioned”. But contrary to some belief, lacy doesn’t have to mean more difficult. The stitch pattern is fairly simple, and with a lovely variegated yarn, will present just the right amount of character. Wear it with any summer outfit for the perfect look!

If you are a big bracelet person, have you ever tried crocheting your own? It’s easy and oh, so much fun! Choose a favorite yarn and follow the pattern’s simple instructions. The border on this bracelet is textured with a very ordinary stitch while the middle sports shells and clusters. Here’s an idea: for a lacier bracelet, try a smaller weight yarn while still using the same hook. Let me know what you think! Cappuccino Cuff Bracelet

Floral patterns are fun whether they’re created with colors, lace, or relief stitches. This coaster pattern uses stitches worked around posts to create a textured six-petal flower. The coaster is quick to make once you have a handle on posts stitches and increasing stitches. Crochet a bunch of these flower coasters in a variety of colors for a fun looking collection. crochet_hex_flower_coaster
