Crochet Pattern: Dimensional Flower

A flower with just a little bit of pop makes a great accent to finish off a hat or other project. It’s also good on its own as part of a handmade bouquet. Vary the look by pressing the center inward or outward or by changing color after the second round. crochet_dimensional_flower

Crochet Pattern: Crayon Link Scarf

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on December 28th, 2013 by Laurie Beranek – 6 Comments
I needed an item preferably a scarf to promote the new Kid’s Crochet classes at an event at the store where I teach. I came up with the Crayon Link Scarf pattern. The scarf was a huge hit with the kids. They loved the bright colors and many different ways they could wear it. Some options on how to wear it is as a scarf, mobieus, necklace or belt. I am sure there are many other ways to wear it too. Color options include all one color or each link a different color. It’s a great way to use your stash. The scarf works up quickly and the length can be adjusted by the number of links that are connected. Another option is to connect the end links and turn it into a mobieus. Crayon Link Scarf

Crochet Pattern: EyeGlass Caddie

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on December 22nd, 2013 by Laurie Beranek – 2 Comments
The eyeglass case that came with my glasses broke last week and I needed a new eyeglass case. I couldn’t find any that I liked in the stores, so I decided to make my own. This is a favorite pattern of mine. I have made jewelry and crochet holder caddies with this pattern. For the eyeglass caddie I downsized the number of stitches and rows to make it a perfect fit. It is easy to adjust the caddie pattern for the perfect fit using any type of yarn. To make a caddie to fit your needs all you need to do is increase or decrease the stitches and rows. They make great gifts. Best of all, they are quick and easy to make! EyeGlass Caddie Closeup

Add a little sparkle to your party outfits this holiday season with a Sparkly Rose Ring. It’s easy to make and whips up quickly. The pattern is made in two pieces, the ring band and the rose. You can adjust the beginning chains on the ring band to fit any size finger, so they also make perfect gifts for everyone on your list. They only take a few yards of yarn, so they are a good way to use up your yarn stash too. For colorful variations, you can use two different colors one for the band and one for the rose. Blog Ring
