Dainty hair accessories can be just what you need to finish off an outfit or enliven a hairstyle, and flowers are a classic choice for the job. Make it lacy, and you up the ante. Crochet Pattern: Sweet Baby Doll Booties

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on September 12th, 2013 by Amy Yarbrough – 8 Comments
When I was little the items of doll clothes I lost the most were socks and shoes. I never seemed to be able to keep them with the rest of the clothes. Of course, some little girls don’t care much for putting socks and shoes on their dolls. But I’ve always had a love for shoes so it annoyed me to lose them. Well, despite whether she loses them or not, crochet these for a little girl and see if she doesn’t think you’re the best! Sweet Baby Doll Booties

I love crochet thread earrings (and other jewelry for that matter), and these are no different. They are very light in weight, but for a little more heft, you can add beads either in pattern or dangling as an afterthought. crochet_trista_earrings

Crochet Pattern: Parisian Doll Beret

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on September 3rd, 2013 by Amy Yarbrough – 8 Comments
My little sister has a stuffed bear collection that she just adores. But like every little girl she also has a baby doll. She often begs me to crochet clothing for her doll, so I decided to pull this project out of the hat. She’s pleased with it but I think she would have been happier if it had been pink!
This project is quick and easy, and will make a wonderful gift for any little girl!

Miniature accessories are very versatile. They can be used with figurines, dolls, as embellishments, or as accessories for you. I can see this mini hat as a cute keychain, charm, or barrette, but its uses are only limited by your imagination. Where will you put yours? crochet_itty_bitty_hat

Crochet Pattern: Nearly Autumn Shawl

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on August 29th, 2013 by Amy Yarbrough – 15 Comments
Autumn is the most enjoyable season of the year, in my opinion! Time to start thinking of working on fall puzzles while sipping on a cup of hot apple cider. Though it’s still a few weeks away, already we have felt the weather changing and I couldn’t help turning my thoughts toward the season! What I had in mind for this project was a small bandana-like shawl to accessorize a simple long sleeve shirt. Perfect for fall! If you use Homespun like I did, be sure to read the tip at the bottom of the pattern. It was very helpful to learn. Try it out and tell me what you think! Nearly Autumn Shawl

Crochet Pattern: Cupster

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on August 24th, 2013 by Candace – 7 Comments
What is a cupster, exactly? It’s simply a coaster with a lip that cups the bottom of your glass. One benefit of a cupster is that if it fits snugly on the glass, the cupster will stay with it, and you don’t have to worry about making sure your coaster is wherever you set the glass down. crochet_cupster

Crochet Pattern: 1-Up Mushroom

Being part of a family of avid video-gamers, there is no way I could miss the influence of Mario Brothers on my earlier life. I quickly learned that mushrooms were treats and turtles were the enemy. I’ve often wondered if this is what spurred my love of mushrooms but who knows. Mushrooms have a pleasant roundness to them, you must admit. Give it a try and tell me what you think! 1-Up Mushroom

Crochet Pattern: Woven Belt

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on August 17th, 2013 by Amy Yarbrough – 3 Comments
There are times when long shirts or straight dresses really beg a belt to break up the continuity and give you some waist. This belt is a perfect choice! The stitch alternates between the front and back post stitch which gives it a retro woven look. Also, the drape is just right to make it firm enough for a belt as well as allow it to double as a scarf. Be sure to give it a try. And don’t forget to tell me what you think! Woven Belt
