Coffee & Crochet Moments
By Caissa "Cami" McClinton – 4 CommentsNothing, and I mean nothing is better than sleeping in on a lazy Saturday morning, padding into the kitchen, brewing a fresh pot of coffee, and enjoying it on the couch with your crochet, sunlight streaming through the window. Add a favorite podcast, album, or movie into the mix and you’re approaching nirvana. Am I right, Crochet Spotters?
While luxuries such as these can feel like pipe dreams some weeks, let’s remember that it is up to us to create our own special moments and sanctuaries of relaxation. Although the scene described above may not be possible very often, we can take the flavorful components of coffee and crochet with us almost every day and combine them to make a “coffee & crochet moment.”
Morning Perk
Set the timer on your fancy coffee pot so that you’ll awake to the alluring aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Force yourself to get out of bed just 10 minutes early to enjoy a cup of joe in your favorite chair while crocheting Rachel’s Absolutely Easy Coffee Cup Sleeve. Since it’s a quick project, you’ll be done before you know it!
Coffee Break!
If work is stressing you out, allow yourself a moment to slip away. Find a private place, either outside, in a break room, or close your office door. If that is all impossible, go out to your car and sit in there! Enjoy a K-Cup or a really good instant coffee and begin Rachel’s Extra Large Coaster to warm up your cubicle.
Cafe Detour
During those rare moments when you arrive somewhere early and have an extra half an hour before you need to be anywhere, make it a point to stop by at the nearest cafe. Either go in and sit, or use the drive-thru. This is the time to choose a dry cappuccino for treat, and also to crochet an adorable Square Coaster by Candace to use with your favorite coffee mug at home.
Have you ever combined coffee and crochet? Which moments, drinks, & patterns do you think go together the best for a “coffee & crochet moment?” Please leave your thoughts and ideas in the comment section below.
During our crochet club meetings on Monday and Friday mornings, we enjoy a cup of coffee, tea, or favorite beverage as we sit, crochet/knit, and visit!
I agree with you it’s great to take time to enjoy my coffee or sometimes my English Tea & crochet. Especially when I need to get my mind off of things that stress me its my own way of therapy. “:) As they say take time to smell the coffee “:)
That’s my ultimate joy, coffee and crochet! Very relaxing foe me. Comforting for sure.
I do this every morning now that I have retired. It took awhile to get adjusted to this, as when I was working I only got to sit and relax on Sunday morning after Church before I had to start dinner. Love it it was worth the long wait.
