Crochet Pattern: Autumn Harvest Scarf
By Amy Yarbrough – 12 CommentsI can’t tell you how fond I am of autumn colors. They are so earthy and appealing! When autumn rolls around each year I am sure to find some way of exploiting this love of color. And here’s this years version, a simple, one-skein scarf that takes very little time to crochet. The stitch pattern is easy to work and at the same time lovely, giving the lightweight scarf a little character. I chose Red Heart’s Boutique Unforgettable in Polo and a fairly large size hook and ended up with a scarf perfect for these cool fall days! |

Gorgeous pattern – thanks sharing!
Plus I love the yarn you used here. Autumn really is the most beautiful season on the year.
Thanks Laura! I am glad you like it.

I’m not crazy enough to try and crochet with Unforgetable, but I might try this in a different (less fuzzy) yarn.
Thank you.
Very lovely scarf. I would like to try this pattern. Thanks for sharing it.
Love the pattern! How could I make this into a shawl–20″ wide? How many ch would I start with? Thank you!
Hello Collette,
Sorry for the delay in getting back with you!
The stitch pattern used in this pattern is called Shell Network and has a multiple of 8 sts + 3 (with an added 3 for base chain). You would need to make a gauge swatch, measure it, and then multiply it by whatever number gives you your desired length. Let me know if I can do anything more for you!
Happy Crocheting (and Merry Christmas!),
Amy
Hi Amy
Just came across your pretty scarf … looks like nobody has tried the gauge swatch yet!
Your “SC” should read “DC” to get the required result.
Cheers
Wendy
You are right, Wendy. Thanks!
Amy…
Thanks for the nice lacy pattern! I’m using a soft baby ( ivory ) yarn. It’s looking really good! It’ll go with anything . Then, I can shop for something nice & glitzy…I have an artsy daughter in law ( jewelry designer ). Now, I know how it looks . So, thanks again ‼ï¸

Thank you for the pattern. I have just finished making one using a soft acrylic n wool mix yarn in shades of purple and green. The scarf turned out great.
thanks for free patterns. I haven’t crocheted in years, going to do the scrubby & the Autumn scarf. Like your site
