This little bee would be a great addition to a baby shower basket, a toy for a child or even a home decoration. Personalize your bee with different colors, a little embroidered face or maybe fun decorative buttons.

Finished Size: Bee is 4″ (10.16 cm) long and 2 1/2″ (6.35 cm) across the face

Materials: Small amounts Dk Weight Yarn in black and yellow Even smaller amount of DK Weight yarn in white for wings Crochet Hook H (5.00 mm) yarn needle two small buttons thread polyfill stuffing

Crochet Pattern: Baby Bumblebee

Round 1: ch 2, 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join with sl st in beginning ch: 8 sc

Round 2: ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around, join with sl st in beginning ch: 16 sc

Round 3-5: ch 2, hdc in each sc around, join with sl st to beginning ch-2: 16 hdc

Round 6: join black yarn, ch 2, hdc in each hdc around, join with sl st to beginning ch-2: 16 hdc

Round 7: ch 2, hdc in each hdc around, join with sl st to beginning ch-2: 16 hdc

Round 8: join yellow yarn, ch 2, hdc in each hdc around, join with sl st to beginning ch-2: 16 hdc

Round 9: ch 2, hdc in each hdc around, join with sl st to beginning ch-2: 16 hdc

Round 10: join black yarn, ch 1, sc in each hdc around, join with sl st to beginning ch: 16 sc

Round 11: ch 1, (sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc)around, join with sl st to beginning ch: 12 sc

Round 12: ch 1, (sc2tog, sc in next sc) around, join with sl st to beginning ch: 8 sc

These last stitches will close the bee, so stuff your bee now and then continue with pattern.

Round 13: ch 1, sc2tog around until closed shut, finish off and weave in all ends.

Wings (make 2):

Round 1: ch 2, 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook: 8 sc

Round 2: 2 sc each sc around: 16 sc

Round 3: working in back loops only, sl st in each sc around: 16 sl st

Leave a short tail of 2-3 inches to attach wings to bee’s back.

Attach wings to first black stripe on each side of bee’s back. I used a yarn needle and just knotted the tail into the body of the bee.

Sew buttons on the front of the bee’s face, evenly spaced on each side.
