Crochet Pattern: Beginner Circle Earrings

Once you get the hang of making crocheted earrings there’s no telling what other crocheted earrings you’ll be making next! Just follow the easy and fast instructions below to get started. |  |

Finished Size: 1 3/4″ (4.5 cm) in diameter

Materials: Light Weight Yarn (small amount) Crochet Hook F (3.75 mm) 2 Earring hooks |

Gauge: rounds 1 – 2 in pattern measure 1 3/4″ in diameter
Crochet Pattern: Earring (make 2)
Round 1: ch 4, 12 dc in forth ch from hook, sl st in top of beginning ch-4: 12 dc
Round 2: ch 3, 2 dc in each dc around, sl st in top of beginning ch-3: 24 dc
Finish off, leaving a long end for attaching earring to hook. Thread the end of the yarn into the loop on earring hook. Secure the strand of yarn by making a small (not visible) knot at the back of the earring. Then weave remaining end into the your work. Cut excess yarn if needed.

If you want a little sparkle on your earrings, add beads! Just figure out how many you are going to use and where, then string them on your yarn before you begin the earring. When you get to the spot where you want a bead, just push it up the yarn to your work, and crochet it in place! It is really simple. This also works with purses, glasses cases, etc. The hardest part is finding beads with holes that are big enough for your yarn!
cute earrings the only problem I have is how to keep the circle flat? I am thinking of stiffening them
Hey Faith, you can stiffen them if desired. But the fun with crochet earrings is that they bend and still look neat. I’ve been wearing mine around the past few weeks and love them so far. I even fell asleep with them on a couple times. They didn’t bend as much as I thought they would. Let me know how your earrings turn out!
You can also make them smaller or larger which is nice.

Hi! I was hoping you could help me. In round 1, where is says crochet 12 dc; does that mean 3 dc in each chain? (3dc x 4 chain=12dc) Thanks in advance; I’m new at this! lol! 🙂
Hi Kristen, the “12 dc in forth ch from hook” means that you’re going to make all 12 double crochets into the forth chain from your hook (the forth chain from your hook is also the first chain you made). Since all the double crochets are being made into one chain, it’ll form a small circle. Let me know if you need more help!
hello, ive have made several attempts to make these earrimgs but I cant seem to get the circle to even out. not sure what I am doing wrong. please help.
Hi Brit, as you crochet try to double check to make sure you are making the correct number of stitches after you finish each row. If you accidentally add or miss a few stitches it can change the shape of the circle. You can also try blocking your earrings when you’re done so that it holds its shape better. Hi Brit, the easiest way to make them bigger is to use a thicker yarn with a larger crochet hook.
A bit confused, my work is coming out terrible. I have a crochet book and am trying to figure out working in rounds but I cant comprehend how your photo looks as if there are many more chains. double crochet in rounds is so confusing!
Hi Ashley, try to count the number of stitches you make after you finish each round. If your total number of stitches matches the stitch count (the number at the end of the round, after the colon) then you’re on the right track.

It’s any yarn with the #3 symbol on it. For this pattern though, you can really use any yarn that you like, the circle size will change according to the yarn you use.
Finished row one, slip stitched in top of beginning chain four. What then? What does the 12dc mean, or am I finished with row one and it is just telling me that row one is done and I can move on to row two. I have always done the same things and never ventured out, but this is something that I really want to do. I can’t figure out what i am doing incorrectly.
Hi Caren, the 12 dc at the end after the colon is just telling you the stitch count for the round so you can double check your work. You don’t have to make another 12 dc.
