The fun apple sweater is bound to put smiles on faces when you pull it out for lunch. Best of all it’s fast to crochet and requires only a little bit of yarn with no sewing. The sweater is designed for an apple but can also be used for other fruits of similar shape and size. For extra fruit protection, fold up the top of the sweater collar. |

Wow how neat…Rachel where do you get your patterns from?? I love looking on your website every day to see what patterns you have up every day…it is so neat that you put something new up every day…
Thanks Jackie! The patterns are always original designs right off my hook. The ideas come from anything I feel like making at the time or requests that I’ve gotten from readers 🙂
Rachel, great thanks for your distinguish pattern for apple sweater.
That is too cute! I don’t eat apples but, it’s perfect for my oranges! 🙂
This is a really good idea – I like to grab an apple before going out but what stops me is how it gets bruised in my handbag. This cute sweater would help with that, I’m going to make one with some scrap wool! Thanks for the idea <3 <3
Hi Rachel, I love this pattern and intend to use it for peaches. They are so soft that only a bump can bruise the flesh–this sweater is just the thing to keep them safe and fresh–hey, I just made a rhyme…lol. Thank you, Rachel, for another lovely and practical pattern for us all. Dawn
Rachel…thanks so much for sharing me crochet pattern and info.I’ve just several months doing crochet and learn by myself from books, etc.in the future i hope you can share picture pattern(like Japanese crochet patterns),because i love to make crochet by reading picture pattern. Thanks…
Ha ha, what a cute idea, I’d never have thought of. :o) Thanks for the lol.
it just too cute
*giggles* I was all geared up for a sweater with apples on it or apple colours! I never would have thought of something like this! Gonna make one each for my kidlets!
Thanks Rach!
Thanks for this great pattern! It’s funny but also a really great idea, especially for peaches! (I must say the apples that we have here are quite firm).
Anyway, I wanted to aske you Rachel what kind of yarn I should use. I’ve got loads of coloured acrylic yarn, but would that be good to us or is cotton better?
Thanks for reading this and have a great day!
Meyke, I used cotton yarn in the picture, but you can use acrylic if you’d like. I don’t think it makes much of a difference.
OK! Thanks for your advice! I found myself some leftover wool/silk yarn which will make a lovely fruit-cozy!
