Crochet Pattern: Crochet Spot Square

This versatile square can be used for anything you like – pillows, bags, scarves, afghans, and more! It can be made any size and with any yarn and hook size, and offers lots of possible color arrangements as well.
Finished Size: 5″ (12 cm) wide |
Materials: Medium Weight Yarn (approximately 5 yards of color A and 12 yards of color B) Crochet Hook K (6.50 mm) |
Gauge:
Rounds 1 – 2 in pattern measure 2.5″ (7 cm) in diameter
Special Stitches:
exdc (extended double crochet – yarn over, insert hook in next st, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through one loop on hook, *yarn over, pull through two loops on hook, repeat from * 1 more time)
corner-dc (corner double crochet – Always made after an exdc. Double crochet through the two loops at the base of the exdc, see photo below)

Crochet Pattern: Crochet Spot Square
Note: Turning chains do not count as stitches in this pattern. Do not pull slip stitches tight so that you can work into them later.
Round 1: With color A, make magic adjustable ring, ch 2, 12 dc in ring, sl st in first dc: 12 dc
Round 2: ch 2, 2 dc in each dc around, making last 2 dc in sl st from previous round, join color B with sl st in first dc: 24 dc
Round 3: ch 1, hdc in next dc, *dc in next dc, (dc, exdc) in next dc, corner-dc, (exdc, dc) in next dc, dc in next dc, hdc in next 2 dc, repeat from * 3 more times, omitting last hdc at end of last repeat, sl st in first hdc: 36 sts
Round 4: ch 2, dc in next 3 sts, 5 dc in next st, (dc in next 8 sts, 5 dc in next st) 3 times, dc in next 5 sts, making last dc in sl st from previous round, sl st in first dc: 52 dc
Finish off and weave in ends.

1.I was given a beautiful throw 12×12 crocheted throw pillow that was a huge pick rose w/green leaves and then white boarder… Does anyone know how to make this.
2. A friend helped me make a mouse head w/long tail book mark years ago. of course, I didnt write the pattern down. Would anyone know how to do this.
