A basket is a welcome addition to playtime with dolls who would surely love to have a picnic. This basket is small enough for a fashion doll to tote around on a fun excursion. The basketweave pattern is simple, making it easy for novice crocheters to create the texture. Front post and back post stitches are used in this pattern.

Skill Level:

Finished Size: 1″ (2.5 cm) long, 1″ (2.5 cm) tall, 1/2″ (1.5 cm) deep

Materials: Fine Weight Yarn (approximately 5 yards) Crochet Hook E (3.5 mm)

Gauge:
Rounds 1-3 in pattern measure 3/4″ (2 cm) square

Crochet Pattern: Doll Basket
Round 1: Make adjustable ring, ch 1, 8 sc in ring, sl st in beginning ch-1: 8 sc
Round 2: ch 1, (sc in next sc, 3 sc in next sc) around, sl st in beginning ch-1: 16 sc
Round 3: ch 1, sc in next 2 sc, (3 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc) 3 times, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, sl st in beginning ch-1: 24 sc
Round 4: ch 2, hdc in each sc around, sl st in top of beginning ch-2: 24 hdc
Round 5: ch 2, fphdc in first hdc, bphdc in next 3 hdc, (fphdc in next 3 hdc, bphdc in next 3 hdc) around until 2 hdc remain, fphdc in last 2 hdc, sl st in top of beginning ch-2: 24 hdc
Round 6: ch 2, bphdc in first hdc, fphdc in next 3 hdc, (bphdc in next 3 hdc, bfphdc in next 3 hdc) around until 2 hdc remain, bphdc in last 2 hdc, sl st in top of beginning ch-2: 24 hdc
Round 7: Repeat round 5
Finish off.

To make the handle, ch 20 then finish off. Attach handle to basket.
