Crochet Pattern: Doll Booties

I’ve been crocheting a long time, but just recently started making crochet doll clothes for 18″ dolls. Since my little girl just turned 3, she’s finally interested in playing with my old American Girl doll and dressing her up, which prompted me to design my own patterns. The first item I started playing around with making is the doll’s shoes. In fact, they are pretty easy to make and to customize (with a strap, or make into boots). You can also use this basic idea to make baby shoes! |

Materials: Medium Weight Yarn (small amount) Crochet Hook G (4.25 mm) |

6 sc = 2″ and 8 rows = 2″

Crochet Pattern: Doll Booties
Round 1: ch 7, 3 sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 4 ch, 3 sc in last ch, working along back side of ch, skip first ch, sc in next 4 ch, sl st in first sc: 14 sc
Round 2: ch 1, 2 sc in each of next 3 sc, sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in each of next 3 sc, sc in next 4 sts, sl st in first sc: 20 sc
Note: photo #1 shows round 2 completed.
Round 3: ch 1, working in back loops only, sc in each sc around, sl st in first sc: 20 sc
Note: photo #2 shows round 3.
Round 4: ch 1, working in both loops, sc in each sc around, sl st in first sc: 20 sc
Round 5: ch 1, sc in next 11 sc, sc2tog 2 times, sc in next 5 sc, sl st in first sc: 18 sc
Note: photo #3 shows round 5.
Round 6: ch 1, sc in next 9 sc, sc2tog 3 times, sc in next 3 sc, sl st in first sc: 15 sc
You can finish off here for a regular shoe, or you make the following:
Boots (after round 6 continue working sc in each sc around to make the leg as tall as you like):
With a strap (ch 7 and sl st to opposite side of shoe):

How many rows did you complete for the brown boots as pictures above? 14/15 rows?
Used this pattern to make feet for my gorjuss doll that I am working on.
Thankyou so much for this pattern. I’ve been looking for a shoe or boot pattern for the dolls that I am crocheting. It is a very good one and easy.
Thank you so much for this pattern–I had to adapt it a little by using finer yarn and a smaller hook, but the pattern was perfect for my little girl’s Rapunzel doll. They’re darling!
Can all baby crochet patterns for shoe (new born size) be used for 18″ dolls. Thank you for your help.
Love the versatility of this pattern, so easy and simple to do! The only thing that I did differently was row 5 and 6, they just were coming out right. This is what I did:
Round 5: ch 1, sc in next 8 sc, sc2tog 2 times, sc in next 8 sc, sl st in first sc: 18 sc

Round 6: ch 1, sc in next 6 sc, sc2tog 3 times, sc in next 6 sc, sl st in first sc: 15 sc
Such a simple pattern – thank you! I adapted these into mini “Uggs” for my granddaughters’ Our Generation dolls. I used a contrast colour for the soles, added an extra layer of sole which I slip-stitched into position over the other, then put a line of single crochet up the side and around the top of the boot to mimic the fur seams.
