Aw man, I always get caught up trying to make the right sized beanies, but I guess now I don’t have to! I’m going to go download these beanies right now! Thanks Rachel for the sweet pattern 🙂
Yes this looks interesting and I would like to download it, but for the one or two that I
might get I cannot do the monthly payments. I am a senior and it is difficult.
I like your site, thank you

Odette, you can always just buy the pattern by itself, like I did. It was defintely worth it for me.

I’m so happy you added this pattern. Can I use boulce and get the same look?
You can definitely use boucle! Boucle will give it less stitch definition and it’ll be nice and soft. It’ll look something like the Baby Cocoon (texture wise), since I used boulce for that. Just be sure to check your gauge when you make your beanies so that they turn out to be the right size.
I realized that in your picture of the hats, that they were turned inside out so that the wrong side was facing out. My friend does this but she also just puts her hook into the back look and not both. This not only bothered me but made me wonder why? Personally I don’t mind the fact that i see it as backwards, i was just wondering why people have it like that way?
Hi Rachel, the right side and wrong side of a work is determined by the designer. Personally I like it this way. You can always turn it the way you like it, no hassle!

Hi,
I’m following one of your beanie hat patterns (family size one on this page) but I noticed that when I’m making the crown of the hat it doesn’t lay flat…it waves….is it suppose to do that? I can’t see how it would turn into a beanie?…..
Hi Candace, thanks for letting me know you needed help! Yes, the top of the hat should lay flat as a circle. Make sure that you make the gauge before you do the beanie, so that you know your tension is correct. Also, be sure to count the stitches for each round. The total number of stitches in each round should match the number written at the end of the round. Waviness is normally due to having more stitches than required, or the tension in the stitches are too loose. Let me know if you have checked these, and I’ll be sure to help you further if you need it 🙂

I am interested in buying this, but I am wondering what sizes the beanies are? I am interested in a 0-3 months, 3-6 months and 6-12 month for sure. Would this pattern fit that?
Hi Holly, the sizes in this pattern are for preemie, baby, toddler, child, woman and man. These size labels are only a general guideline as to what size to make for a particular person, since head sizes can vary greatly despite someone’s age. For what you’re interested in, you can probably use the preemie and baby size patterns. Depending what yarn you also choose it can make your hats stretchy so that it can fit a large range of baby sized heads. Let me know if you need any help with the pattern.
I pruchased the 6 beanie patterns. They will not print out. I get the heading on the page,
then a blank page. What do I need to do?
Hi Jo Anne, make sure you are opening the pattern in Adobe Reader and that you are using the latest version. If you click on the “Print Preview” option, double check to make sure the preview is showing the entire pattern so that it will print everything. Let me know if you need more help with it.
Hello, I’m new to the site, so sorry if I ask silly questions.
I recently made a hat for my husband and it was too small. What size is the largest hat pattern in this group? And how would I go about purchasing it?
Thanks!
Hi Sara, the largest hat measures 22″ in circumference around the head. To make sure it fits, feel free to measure around your husband’s head first. You can find the pattern in the hat section in the store, here’s a link to it: Crochet Hats section

My top of the hat is very wavy. I checked everything . The first one I made was way too big that I had to undo the whole thing. What am I doing wrong? I’ve counted the stitches perfectly – help, please!
Hi Bev, try double checking your gauge. If the tension is too loose, sometimes it can cause the hat to be wavy. Since you mentioned that you already checked your stitch count (the most common problem), try also checking the number of rows since adding more rows with more increases will also make it wavy.
Are these made in SC or HDC
Hi Jen, this pattern uses the single crochet stitch. The Super Quick Family Beanie Set uses the larger stitches (double crochet) if you’re interested in that.
I pretty much have the DC hats down, I like the HDC hats the best for winter, they work up quicker than the SC and aren’t as open as the DC. Would you recommend using my DC pattern as a base for doing different hat sizes in HDC and just add a couple rows to compensate for the short HDC vs the taller DC?
Sure, and if you need help adjusting the pattern just let me know and I can help you out with it as you crochet 🙂
