Round 1: with main color, ch 8, sc in bl of second ch from hook, sc in bl of next 5 ch, 2 sc in bl of last ch, 2 sc in fl of last ch, sc in fl of each remaining ch, sl st into skipped ch: 16 sc
Round 2: Ch 1, sc in first 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 6 sc, sl st in beginning ch-1: 18 sc

I find that booties are the hardest things to crochet and I have been crocheting and knitting for years. I think it might be a mental block as I have managed almost everything else.

Candice, I’m taught by someone who was self taught and I’m stuck right at the beginning. I’m not sure how to crochet in front loop or back loop. I looked it up on YouTube, but I’m still confused. Please help! I really want to do this. 🙂
I am so happy to see that I am not the only one who thinks baby booties are one of the most difficult things to crochet. I am between beginner and intermediate in skill level and can’t tell you how many times I rip them out and try to start over. After my third attempt, I usually abandon the pattern and just stop crocheting altogether fo awhile. It’s frustrating.
I did just want to say thank you to all of those kind folks who supply us with free crochet patterns and especially to the ones who explain those little snags we come to from time to time.
