The hoops usually don’t come with a way to open them, so stringing beads is out. However, you can crochet around the hoops and make your handmade earrings even more unique. These earrings can be made with hoops of different shapes and sizes–they’ll just have a different look. |

Finished Size: Each petal measures 1/2″ (1.5 cm) tall, 1/2″ (1.5 cm) wide
Materials: Size 10 thread (approximately 10 yards) Crochet Hook 7 (1.50 mm) 1 3/4″ (4.5 cm) by 1″ (2.5 cm) teardrop hoop |
Gauge:
Each petal measures 1/2″ (1.5 cm) tall by 1/2″ wide (1.5 cm)

Crochet Pattern: Half Hoop Earrings (make 2)
Row 1: attach yarn to hoop, ch 1, 20 sc on hoop: 20 sc
Row 2: turn, (ch 7, skip 3 sc, sl st in next sc) across: 40 sts
Row 3: ch 1, turn, (3 sc, hdc, dc, hdc, 3 sc) in each ch-space across: 45 sts

You know, this would be an easy way to also cover up those “tarnished” from body salt in hot or humid climates – might pull some of mine out and re-furbish them instead of tossing them out…
