Sure a hoop earring with dangling beads or charms in the middle are cool, but what if you want something a little more? The hoops usually don’t come with a way to open them, so stringing beads is out. However, you can crochet around the hoops and make your handmade earrings even more unique. These earrings can be made with hoops of different shapes and sizes–they’ll just have a different look.

Skill Level:

Finished Size: Each petal measures 1/2″ (1.5 cm) tall, 1/2″ (1.5 cm) wide

Materials: Size 10 thread (approximately 10 yards) Crochet Hook 7 (1.50 mm) 1 3/4″ (4.5 cm) by 1″ (2.5 cm) teardrop hoop

Gauge:
Each petal measures 1/2″ (1.5 cm) tall by 1/2″ wide (1.5 cm)

Crochet Pattern: Half Hoop Earrings (make 2)
Row 1: attach yarn to hoop, ch 1, 20 sc on hoop: 20 sc
Row 2: turn, (ch 7, skip 3 sc, sl st in next sc) across: 40 sts
Row 3: ch 1, turn, (3 sc, hdc, dc, hdc, 3 sc) in each ch-space across: 45 sts
Finish off.
