Crochet Pattern: Hedgerly the Hedgehog Appliqué
By Amy Yarbrough – 2 CommentsHedgehogs are some of the cutest creatures, and though I haven’t yet had the opportunity to get one of my own, I hear they make very good pets. As an old time collector of hedgehog paraphernalia, I thought it was about time Crochet Spot had some of its own. Crochet this adorable hedgehog using a variation of basic stitches for some basic shaping techniques. It’s simple and fun, a perfect element for that woodland blanket, pillow, or you name it! |

Remember, I’m right here if you have any trouble. I’ll be glad to help out where I can!
Lovely appliqué, but PLEASE don’t keep hedgehogs as pets. They are wild creatures and need to roam. By all means put food (meaty dog/cat food or specific hedgehog food, NEVER bread and milk, they can’t digest it and it’ll make them I’ll) and water out for them and enjoy watching them.
Sorry for the rant, but hedgies are very dear to me and I can’t bear to think of them being kept as pets!
Thank you Kath, for taking the consideration to inform us of these things. Believe me when I say I love animals and am always very cautious about the right way to care for them. I believe God intended for mankind to be good stewards of his creation and therefore, care for its inhabitants, such as animals, as much as it is in our power.
Before I attempt to get any species of pet that I am not already familiar with I would take the utmost care in finding out the best way to care for it. 🙂
Thanks again,
Amy
