There’s nothing like cracking open a book and spending an afternoon immersed in another world or even in an unfamiliar part of this one. Of course, you need a bookmark in case you get interrupted, and this leaf bookmark adds a unique touch as it sticks out of any book in your collection

Leaf: 1 1/2″ (4 cm) tall, 1 1/4″ (3 cm) wide
Entire Bookmark: 11 1/4″ (28.5 cm) long

Materials: Size 10 Crochet Thread (Approximately 15 yards) Crochet Hook B (2.25 mm)

Gauge:
Rounds 1- 4 in pattern measure 1 1/2″ (4 cm) tall by 1 1/4″ (3 cm) wide

Crochet Pattern: Leaf Bookmark
Round 1: make adjustable ring, ch 2, 6 hdc in ring, sl st in top of beg ch-2: 6 hdc
Round 2: ch 2, 2 hdc in each hdc around, sl st in top of beg ch-2: 12 hdc
Round 3: ch 2, 2 hdc in first 3 hdc, 2 sc in next 2 hdc, ch 2, dc in next 2 hdc, ch 2, 2 sc in next 2 hdc, 2 hdc in last 3 hdc, sl st in top of beg ch-2: 26 sts
Round 4: ch 2, 2 hdc in first 4 hdc, sc in next 6 sts, 2 sc in next ch-sp, ch 2, dc2tog invisibly, ch 2, 2 sc in next ch-sp, sc in next 6 sts, 2 hdc in last 4 hdc, sl st in top of beg ch-2: 37 sts
Do not finish off.

Ch 70, pull loop on hook to 1/4″, ch 3, 21 dc in loop, sl st in top of beg ch-3: 21 dc
Finish off.
