Crochet Pattern: Longing for Spring Doily
By Erin Burger – 5 CommentsThis doily was designed with a similar idea in mind as The Hipster Doily; using sock or fingering yarn in modern colors to update the idea of an old fashioned doily made with cotton lace weight yarns and tiny steel hooks. This doily was done in rounds of three contrasting ‘spring’ or ‘valentine’ colors and a simple dc4tog stitch. This stitch can be considered a puff stitch and is worked just like a dc2tog (what can be called a decrease in some patterns) except worked 4 dc together instead of 2!

Does each bobble count as a double crochet??
That looks cute! I’ll be interested to try it. 🙂 I’m glad to see all the pattern adaptations AWAY from crochet thread and teensie tiny steel hooks. Those are impossible for me!!
I have the same question as Lauren. But I think she’s counting them as mutliple dc?
Hi Lauren and Jasmin,
If you’re referring to the stitch count, each bobble counts as 4dctog, they are the same thing. So the stitch count reflects 4 dc for each bobble.
Thanks for your questions, if I didn’t help you out, please don’t hesitate to ask for further assistance.
