Making bookmarks is an easy way to get started with working with fine threads and little hooks. They are also great for using up scrap thread from larger projects. Either way, keeping your place in whatever book you are reading is easier with one handy.

Skill Level:

Finished Size: 1 1/4″ (3 cm) wide, 6 1/4″ (16 cm) long

Materials: Size 5 thread (approximately 25 yards) Crochet Hook B (2.25 mm)

Gauge:
Rounds 1 – 3 in pattern measure 1 1/4″ (3 cm) across

Crochet Pattern: Open Triangle Bookmark
Round 1: make adjustable ring, ch 1, 21 sc in ring: 21 sc
Round 2: (sc in next 6 sc, 3 sc in next sc) around: 27 sc
Round 3: (sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc) around: 30 sc
Round 4: ch 55, sl st in sixth ch from hook forming a ring, ch 1, turn, 10 sc in ring: 10 sc
Finish off.
