Finished Size: 2 3/4″ (7 cm) in diameter

Materials: Medium Weight Yarn (small amount of main color) Crochet Hook I (5.50 mm) |

Gauge: Not that important for this pattern, you may adjust the hook size to obtain the desired finished size.

Crochet Pattern: Peace Sign
Round 1: ch 13, tr in first ch made, (ch 3, tr in first ch made) 2 times, ch 7, sl st in sixth ch made at beginning of round
Round 2: 14 sc in ch-7 space, 6 sc in next 2 ch-3 spaces, 14 sc in next ch-7 space, sl st in first sc made, finish off.

Hi Rachel I have a question about the pattern, I am a begginer so plz bear with me…
In round 1 it says to sl st in 6th ch. does that mean the 6th ch from hook or the 6th ch from the ch 7? and then in round 2, 14 sc in ch-7 space, is that 14 sc in the space where I sl st in the 6th ch? Thanks so much, I can not wait to make these for my daughter if I can figure it out. It sounds so easy but I am stuck 🙁
I make your simple flower pattern all time and glue them to those silver sewing clips (hair clips)
and my daughter wears them to school and gets compliments ALL the time! (she is 14 yrs old) So easy, and SO cute! Thanks again love your site
Hi Becki, the “6th chain made” refers to the 6th chain you made at the start of the round. After you chain 6 (a part of the ch 13) at the beginning, you may want to place a stitch marker into the 6th stitch so you know where it is later.
After you make your sl st in the 6th chain made, the 6 chains at the beginning of the round becomes the top vertical line of the peace sign. The first ch-7 space in round 2 is created from the remaining 7 chains of the beginning ch 13 (13 – 6 = 7).

I tried this a few times and each time it came out more apple shaped than circular. I don’t know what I did wrong. I even used the same yarn and hook size as recommended. Any tips?

Also, make sure that the single crochets in the chain spaces are evenly spread out and not bunched together.
I am having trouble with this pattern, and this is the third time I have entered a request for help. It appears that you did not receive my first two requests. For whatever reason, I am having a hard time understanding this pattern. Is it possible to post a picture-by-picture, step-by-step list of instructions, please? I have had no problem with other patterns I have used from your blog, but this one eludes me. I would appreciate this so much. Hey Marybeth, I don’t have a pic by pic done yet, I’ll be working on it. But if there is a part that you don’t understand in one of the rounds I’d be happy to try and explain it to you.
After you finish round 1, it should already look like a very skinny peace sign. Round 2, just makes the outside of the peace sign thicker.

Hello. I have been trying to make the peace sign, but mine keeps coming out crooked. Is there a video on this? The detailed pattern you posted are good but I still can’t see what I am doing wrong.
JB, sorry there’s no video at the moment. But let me know which step you are getting stuck and I can try and explain it to you in more detail.
I am getting stuck on this part: tr in first ch made, (ch 3, tr in first ch made) 2 times. When I connect them and then finish it off with my ch 7 it looks crooked. I hope this makes sense.

If you take a look at the first 8 pics, it may help you determine where you’re going wrong. You may be doing the steps correctly, as it is okay if it seems a little crooked after you finish the round, the second round helps give it a more even and finished shape.
