For those who want to try projects that require assembly, this works as a starter project to practice your sewing on. |

Finished Size: 5.5″ (14 cm) long
Materials: Medium Weight Yarn (approximately 15 yards) Crochet Hook H (5.0 mm) Scrap yarn or embroidery thread Yarn or embroidery needle |
Gauge:
5 hdc = 1″ (2.5 cm)
4 rows = 1″ (2.5 cm)

Crochet Pattern: Something’s Fishy Applique
Row 1: Ch 3, hdc in third ch from hook, turn: 1 hdc
Row 2: Ch 2, 3 hdc in hdc, turn: 3 hdc
Row 3: Ch 2, 2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in next hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, turn: 5 hdc
Row 4: Ch 2, 2 hdc in next hdc, (hdc in next hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc) across, turn: 8 hdc
Rows 5-7: Ch 2, hdc in each hdc across, turn: 8 hdc
Row 8: Ch 2, hdc in next 2 hdc, hdc2tog 2 times, hdc in next 2 hdc: 6 hdc
Rows 9-10: Ch 2, hdc in each hdc across: 6 hdc
Row 11: Ch 2, hdc2tog, hdc in next 2 hdc, hdc2tog: 4 hdc
Row 12: Ch 2, hdc in each hdc across: 4 hdc
Row 13: Ch 2, hdc in next hdc, hdc2tog, hdc in next hdc: 3 hdc
Row 14: Ch 3, 2 dc in next hdc, sl st in next hdc, 2 dc in next hdc: 5 sts
Row 15: Ch 3, 2 dc in next 2 dc, sl st in sl st, 2dc in next 2 dc: 9 sts
Finish off.
Fin (Make 1 for applique or 2 for display):
Row 1: Ch 7, hdc in third ch from hook and each ch across: 5 hdc
Row 2: Ch 2, hdc in first 3 hdc, hdc2tog: 4 hdc
Row 3: Ch 2, hdc2tog, hdc in next 2 hdc: 3 hdc
Row 4: Ch 2, hdc3tog: 1 hdc
Finish off. Sew on fin and embroider face.

The pattern seems to be missing Row 4 on the Fin. Is this meaning that I need to repeat Row 3 or maybe a miss print where 5 should be 4. Thank you, Estela
Thanks for catching that Estela! It was a typo, where it should says row 5 it should have been row 4. All fixed now.
