Crochet Pattern: Super Simple Baby Socks
By Erin Burger – 30 CommentsThis simple baby tube-sock pattern is perfect for beginners because of the easy-toe and easy construction. It’s also a great way to introduce a beginner to fingering weight (sock weight) yarn, which may seem like a daunting material at first. Sock yarn is great for Spring projects because of it’s light weight and is available at most stores in a variety of different fibers. This sock could fit a newborn up to six month old baby, depending on how stretchy your yarn is, maybe even older!
Different sizes can easily be created by chaining more or less for the length of the sock and making more rows to increase the width of the sock.

Crochet Pattern: Super Simple Baby Socks
Make 2
Row 1: ch 32, hdc in 3rd ch from hook and hdc in each ch across: 30 hdc
Rows 2-15: Ch 2, turn, hdc in first hdc and in each hdc across: 30 hdc
Leave a long tail (at least 6″ long). Attach yarn to needle and working along short end of sock body, thread yarn in and out of each stitch, pull tight and knot to opposite side to create toe. With remaining yarn, hold the long sides of the sock together and whip stitch in each st up the back of the sock. Turn sock inside out. See Whip Stitch in Crochet for more information on joining the sock.
Finish off, weave in all ends. Make it pretty!

Great….to what age do they fit?
Can the super simple baby sock can it be knitted .Heather braaten.
Is there a visual demo after row 15 ? Confused
Hi Gloria!
Sorry, I don’t think there’s a photo. After you crochet round 15, it should look like a rectangle. Then you are going to sew that rectangle into a tube shape to make the sock. The instructions are telling you to weave the yarn end in and out of the stitches along the short side of the rectangle, then pull it tight to cinch it together (this makes the bottom of the sock). Then you will sew the side of the sock together.
Thank you i kinda figured it out in currently in row 9 so hopefully all goes well
What size do this fit i feel like i might be to big a square
At the beginning she wrote “This sock could fit a newborn up to six month old baby, depending on how stretchy your yarn is, maybe even older!”
Thank you.
Can this sock be made for preemie babies sock and how many chains and rows needed Heather braaten.
Can socks be made for preemie baby.
Can the socks be made for preemie baby.
Yes! I would recommend measuring the baby’s feet as preemies come in all sizes. Then you can adjust the pattern to be that size by changing the number of chains and/or rows.
Do you have a patterns for a head band for 5″doll Heather braaten.
They sound wonderful. But I’m such a visual learner! Could you possibly post photos of what they look like along the way?

Hi Heather! Sorry, we don’t have a lot of 5″ doll clothing. Just mostly Barbie size or the larger 18″ dolls. You can find most of our doll clothes here: https://www.crochetspot.com/?s=doll
