Crochet Pattern: Thick and Sturdy Potholders

New pattern in the Crochet Spot Store! Crochet a set of thick and sturdy potholders to replace your old ones. Each potholder is designed so that you can place your hand inside of it. Or if you are extra cautious and are carrying an extra hot dish, you can use both layers of the potholder to protect your palms. Potholders can also function as trivets or hot pads. The best part of all, there is absolutely no sewing required!!

Skill Level:

Finished Size: 7 1/4” (18.5 cm) wide, 8” (20.5 cm) tall

Materials: Medium Weight Yarn (approximately 100 yards of each color) Recommended: 100% cotton yarn Crochet Hook J (6.00 mm)

   Is it ok for me to use 100% acrylic yarn to make potholders?

     Cherine, I’ve heard horror stories about acrylic yarn melting when exposed to hot temperatures, which is why I like to avoid using it for potholders.
