Ever used the lace stitch? Its not just for delicate patterns. Here I used it for this miniature net and it worked out perfect. Made for 4 to 4 1/2 inch army men, boys will love to add it to their other military equipment. Its quick and easy to make! Tip: For a thinner netting you could try a smaller size thread.

Skill Level:

Finished Size: 4.5” (11.5cm) long, 3.25” (8.25cm) wide

Materials: Super Fine Weight Yarn (approximately 25 yards) Crochet Hook D (3.2 5mm)

Gauge:
5 sc = 1’’
5 rows = 1’’
Gauge Swatch: 1’’w x 1’’h (2.5 cm x 2.5 cm) ch 6.
Row 1: sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across: 5 sc
Row 2 – 5: ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across: 5 sc
Finish off.

Crochet Pattern: Army Corps Net
Row 1: ch 33, sl st in 6th ch from hook, *ch 3, skip 2 ch, sl st in next ch, repeat from * across: 10 ch-3 spaces

Row 2 – 20: ch 3, turn, sl st in first ch-3 space, *ch 3, sl st in next ch-3 space, repeat from * across

Crochet evenly around piece and make a ch 6 and sl st in each corner (instead of the traditional 3 sc in each corner). You should have a loop at each of the 4 corners.
Finish off.
