You know that feeling you get when you create something simple but it turns out looking exquisite? That’s my feeling about the Noelle Shimmer Cowl!
Though the design is super simple, pair it with the right materials and you have something worthy to be worn in the most formal occasions! And by simple, I mean all you do is work half double crochets in the back loops throughout. See what I mean?
I cannot say enough about the character of this cowl. It is lightweight and stretchier than most crochet fabrics, making it the perfect go to piece for your wardrobe, from fall to spring. I used Patons Glam Stripes in White Gold (I was oohing and ahhing over the shimmery goldness the entire time!) but try it with your favorite yarn to admire the difference it makes!
If you give the Noelle Shimmer Cowl a try be sure and let me know what you think!

When I first got into crocheting many years ago, fingerless gloves were my favorite to crochet. I made many versions for different people, as well as for myself, and played around with length and style. I remembered a pair that I made that were short and simple and decided to design another “short and simple” pair with a few techniques to make them look more advanced, like adding a cuff and reverse crochet trim.
These gloves really are surprisingly simple to crochet. And they don’t take a lot of yarn either! Make yourself some over a weekend or make up a handful to give as gifts this Christmas.

Now 30% OFF in the Crochet Spot Store, this hat can be crocheted in 5 different sizes from babies to adults so that everyone in the family can have a fun hat. The hat is crocheted in one piece from the top down, then the tree trims are crocheted direct onto the hat so that no sewing is required. The trims are crocheted with colorful beads, which are used as ornaments. The star is then crocheted separately, and then sewn onto the top of the hat. Due to the techniques used in this pattern, it is not recommended for beginners unless you’re up for a fun challenge!

Did you catch the Southwestern Cinch Cowl crochet pattern posted here a few days ago? Well, here’s a hat to go along with it — the Southwestern Beanie!
There is really nothing complicated about this beanie at all. The ribbing for the band is simple single crochets worked in the back loops only, and the body also is single crocheted. And though the striping might look complicated, all it is is beefed up single crochets! Yep, just like the Southwestern Cinch Cowl, the texture is created by working a single crochet puff, which means you just tack on a few more loops when making a regular single crochet.
Top it off with a pom-pom of your color choice and you have a perfect fall accessory! Be sure to check out the first half of this pair, the Southwestern Cinch Cowl!

Now 30% OFF in the Crochet Spot Store, crochet this witch hat to top off your Halloween costume or to play dress up around the house. This hat isn’t just for babies or kids, but for adults too! The witch hat is crocheted in the round with double crochet stitches. For best shaping, use a yarn that is stiff rather than soft. You can also starch the hat when you’re finished if desired.

Looking for a project with bold color? I’ve long been inspired by Mexican blankets with their bold color and geometric prints, and finally I found a chance to incorporate this beauty into a project with my Southwestern Cinch Cowl.
Worked with 6 different medium weight yarns, this cowl is also an excellent stash buster. It is crocheted with alternating rows of single crochet and single crochet puff stitch, an easy and fun transition with a gentle twist of texture.
It only takes a few hours to make so go ahead and grab some colors from your yarn stash and give it a try!

Now 30% OFF in the Crochet Spot Store, this hat is designed for the messy buns and the high ponytails. No need to squish your hair when you wear hats, let it stick out the top. Each hat size is crocheted with an elastic opening so that it stretches easily over the hair and doesn’t leave a large gap between hair and hat. A tutorial for crocheting with the elastic is included. This pattern comes in 5 sizes, ranging from baby (if they’re blessed with lots of hair!) to adults, so that everyone in the family can have one!
