Puppies, crochet and love seem to be directly connected, according to my almost 14 year old daughter. Want to know why?
We are getting puppies, possibly lots of puppies, to foster that is. I use to – many moons ago – foster puppies for the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). I am not sure if you have ever had the “pleasure†of tiny puppies but they are messy – really messy. The true horror of very young, almost immobile puppies that have no mommy to run around after them to clean up cannot actually be described. But they are cute, even thought at some point they will develop razors where there teeth should be.

No matter how wildly different they are from each other, women from every corner of the globe are bonded by that monthly event in their lives: the period.
What girl is unaware of the ups and downs this event brings? The most embarrassing part is when your napkin spills out of your purse at the most unexpected moment, thereby announcing to the rest of the world your current situation. |

Fear no more, crocheting gals! Make this quick and easy pocket for your sandwich(es), for a more discreet storage option. This pocket is made using two squares with just five rounds each. Are you a maxi type of gal? Just increase the number of rows on both squares to make it larger. If done large enough, you can even use it for an actual sandwich, haha. |

As a person that crochets, I have plenty of silly little bits and parts of skeins / balls left over. I am assuming you do too. There are only a certain amount of tiny projects you can do to use them up. So let’s investigate the “magic ballâ€. A magic ball is like a leftover dinner, if you like leftovers it can be as good, if not better than the first helping. For those of you that have no idea what I’m going on about, a magic ball is the consolidation of all your leftovers.

One of my favorite things about crocheting is making fun and colorful flowers. This pattern is for a larger sized flower that can be made in two colors, like in the pattern, or with an abundance of different variations. This flower can be embellished, like in the photo, with a button or even a little mini pom-pom and would be great for a fun hat embellishment or a homemade corsage you can keep forever.
Skill Level: |

Finished Size: flower is 4″ (10 cm) in diameter
Materials:
Small amounts of Worsted Weight yarn in Color A and Color B
Crochet Hook G (4.00 mm)

If you are tired of cutting yarn for fringe and love to make chains, this fringe is for you! Use it for a spring scarf or an afghan or even crocheted jewelry. The only thing you need to know is how to chain. Basically, this fringe is just loops of chains attached to the base of your work continuously. |

Ever wondered what Bo Peep would have toted to the beach? Well, aside from her sheep of course.
New in the Crochet Spot Store, this pattern includes directions for making this roomy striped tote and the ribbon brooch. So, you get not one, but two patterns! The sweet bag is crocheted seamlessly in one piece – no assembly or sewing required. The instructions for the optional bow brooch include step-by-step photographs for your convenience. You have crochet patterns and more patterns and then some ‘just in case’ patterns. You have books, leaflets, ones you have printed from the internet, free ones, purchased ones and websites bookmarked for future reference. You kid yourself that you are going to organize them – how, you are not sure and the space on the bookcase is now too small.

Brooches make for very flexible accessories. They are both functional and eye-catching. Unlike appliqués which are permanently attached to an item, brooches are easily transferable. It can instantly jazz up a plain outfit, while holding two pieces of clothing together at the same time.
Crocheted items like flowers and other appliqués can easily be turned into cute brooches. Pin backs of varying sizes and colors are made just for this very purpose. But don’t dismay–any ordinary safety pin can also be used!
