If you are new to Crochet Spot or if you’ve missed a few post here and there, check out the new archives page! Here you can find a list of all the post (patterns, tutorial, etc.) ever published on Crochet Spot. Everything is organized by month and date. The number in the parenthesis after each title tells you the number of comments on the post. You can quickly skim through each month to see if anything catches you eye!
Hopefully the new archives page is easier to navigate then the old design I had. So if you’ve been away from Crochet Spot for a while, head on over to the archives page to catch up on all the fun posts!

If you are looking to go green, crocheting can be a fun way to do so! There are all sorts of things you can crochet while helping the environment. You can crochet reusable items to replace things you would normally toss out. Also, try turning everyday items into yarn, such as plastic bags, old T-shirts or VHS tapes. By recycling materials and reusing your crocheted items, not only can you help the environment, you will be save money along the way!
Here are some ideas to get started! Feel free to add you own ideas, by leaving them as a comment.

I’ve seen lots of quirky crocheted things, but this one has to be at the top of the list. I’m not sure if I’m suppose to think this is cute or be completely disgusted. But it sure gave me a good laugh and I hope it does the same for you.
I have to admit, it’s pretty well made.

I remember back in the day I would go project crazy, having 10 different projects going at one time! I would get bored of one project and start another. Then I realized that I didn’t have enough space to store so many unfinished projects and I’d need to eventually finish what I’ve started.
Today I learned to only have 1 or 2 crochet projects going at a time. One project is normally small, and if there is a second project, it would be a bigger item, like a shawl, blanket or set. This seems to work better for me compared to going wild with 10 different projects. Too many projects can be overwhelming. Having 1 or 2 projects keeps me focused and organized. I even realized that I can get more done!
What about you? How many projects are you working on?

Crocheters everywhere are crocheting for a cause! Whether you’re crocheting afghans for the homeless, caps for cancer patients, or toys for children, they are all great causes in my book. I’m always looking for new causes to crochet for and to share with others.
One of the perks of the internet today is that you can find lots of charities that you can mail your crochet items to if you aren’t sure of local places to give to. If you would like to learn about different charities that accept crocheted items, check out the Crochet Spot Charity Page to find a cause that is right you!
What cause do you crochet for?
