Have you noticed how popular pineapples have been lately? Artistic renderings of pineapples are adorning all kinds of things from clothing to accessories to school supplies! This crocheted pineapple applique was inspired by a cartoon image I found online. I like how this one is a little unsymmetrical. For some reason that appeals to me. It would be fun to crochet this in different colors to decorate a tote bag, t-shirt, pencil case, or even a book cover. Just use strong glue to attach them. |

Standing single crochet is a method for joining a new yarn and/or color to your work. It is as simple as starting with a slip knot on your hook with your new yarn and making a single crochet stitch. You can use this technique in place of having to tie your new yarn to your work.

Do you love cute foxes? If so, this purse is for you! Use it as a kid’s purse or a small purse for adults and teens. The bag is crocheted from the bottom up in one piece, seamlessly in the round like a spiral. Then the strap and the fox’s face is sewn on. The strap can be made as long or short as you desire to create a shoulder bag or a crossbody. The fox’s orange face is also a flap closure that is secured with the fox’s button nose.

Have you ever tried crocheting your own dishcloths, washcloths or other cleaning cloths? If you have, you just might be hooked on them! The feel of a handmade cloth is like nothing else. They can be customized to be any size, shape and color that you want. They’re extremely sturdy and can be washed and reused over and over again.
What’s the difference between dishcloth, washcloth and other cleaning cloth patterns? There really isn’t any difference. You can crochet any of the cloth patterns and decide later what you want to use it for, whether it’s washing dishes, the counter tops, your face and body, or even the car. In this post I rounded up a few of the cleaning cloth patterns that we have here on Crochet Spot.

This pattern set includes daisy shaped scrubbies and leaf inspired cleaning cloths that can be displayed in a cute flower pot to resemble a pot of daisies. The daisy scrubbies are crocheted with ordinary yarn and nylon netting held together to create a rough, textured center that’s great for scrubbing dishes or even exfoliating your face and body. No sewing is required! The cloths can be used to clean dishes and counter tops, or used as a washcloth or face cloth. Crochet with 100% cotton yarn for extra absorbency. Pattern includes a tutorial for preparing and crocheting with nylon netting.

Let’s kick off Christmas in July with a festive bracelet! This bracelet is super quick to crochet and uses a very small amount of yarn. Choose your favorite colored yarn (doesn’t have to be Christmas related) and a bunch of bells to make this noisy bracelet. The length of the bracelet can easily be adjusted if needed.
If you’ve crocheted with beads in the past, this pattern will be a breeze to crochet. If this is your first time crocheting with beads, please check out the How to Crochet: Chain with Bead tutorial before working this pattern. The bells are used in the same manner as beads.

Make bath time fun for children by crocheting these cute animal soap savers. Choose from the bear, elephant or lion, or crochet them all! Insert a bar of soap and you’re ready to shower! The soap saver will help lather the soap and replace the need for washcloths. Not only are they cute, but they also create grip on the soap making it less slippery. Soap savers are also great for using up small pieces of soap so there’s no waste. When bath time is done, be sure to hang the soap saver to dry using the drawstring loop.
