In the hands of a crocheter, a circle or ring can grow into a lot of different shapes. This pattern uses basic shaping done around a ring to make a neat little star. You can wear it as jewelry (make 2 for earrings), string together a bunch for a fun belt, or use it as a lightweight but eye-catching keychain. Me? I’m keeping mine for my bookmark collection. |

I use mason jars for nearly all of my beverages. I like using glass instead of plastic, and mason jars carry a certain charm. I have been toting cool water everywhere in a crocheted pouch, now my coffee and tea have been getting jealous. Therefore I’ve designed this cozy for the 24-oz wide-mouthed mason jar in which I carry my coffee each morning. If you’ve seen my other patterns, you are already familiar with my mason jar! |

Sure a hoop earring with dangling beads or charms in the middle are cool, but what if you want something a little more? The hoops usually don’t come with a way to open them, so stringing beads is out. However, you can crochet around the hoops and make your handmade earrings even more unique. These earrings can be made with hoops of different shapes and sizes–they’ll just have a different look. |

So you’ve already set up your first row of crochet entrelac blocks. What’s next? Well that’s the easy part. It’s just like working in the chain in the first row except now you have stitches and the sides of stitches to work in.
If you haven’t completed your first row yet, check out the How to Crochet: Entrelac (part 1) tutorial or the How to Crochet: As-You-Go Entrelac tutorial.

Granny square blankets are classics in the crochet world that often become family heirlooms. Here is a twist on the classic granny square blanket that will test your crochet skills. This pattern uses 3 different sized granny squares and a granny bordering technique. The finished size of the blanket in the sample photo is a throw, which is great for snuggling up with on the sofa while reading a book or watching television. You can easily adjust the size if you wish by adding more rows or columns of squares, or even adjusting the size of the borders.

Yup, that’s right! I’m getting older as I type this. But with age, comes another year well lived and lots of crochet projects checked off the to-do list. Although I do not have any extravagant plans, and will probably go about my day as usual, I think this year I’ll celebrate by wearing my birthday cake hat around the house. It will give me much joy to watch my dogs tilt their heads at me and give me goofy looks. My cats may even try and swat at the candles. Best of all, it will remind my family that it’s my birthday and they have to make dinner and clean the dishes instead of me!
If you would like to crochet a birthday cake hat to celebrate a birthday that’s coming up, I’ve discounted the pattern to 30% OFF starting now and ending on July 5, 2016. No need to use any coupon codes. The pattern has already been marked down. Simply add the pattern to your cart and check out. Here’s the link to the hat pattern: //www.crochetspot.com/store/?pattern=377
What are you waiting for? Grab your crochet hook and start crocheting and celebrating!

The thought of crocheting something thick and hot in the heat of summer may make you want to leave your crochet hook behind and jump in the pool. But don’t abandon your crochet hook just yet! If you’re a blanket lover or simply need to get your project done for a baby shower or gift, here are some tips to make the heat more manageable.

It’s summer time in my part of the world and I’m ready to crochet a few quick, small projects! Larger projects are great to crochet too, if you’re sitting inside with the air conditional blasting, but with the warmth of summer the smaller projects seem to be ideal. To kick things off, I’ve discounted all of the crochet patterns in the Accessories section, which are all fun small projects. Crochet patterns include jewelry, fingerless gloves, barefoot sandals (great for the beach!), and even mittens, socks and booties (to get ready for winter). All crochet patterns in the accessories section are now 30% OFF!

Pacifier holders are great if you’re always loosing your pacifiers. The end of the pacifier holder that is appliqued with a sport ball is clipped to the baby’s clothing while the other end dangles with a pacifier. These holders can also be used for small toys, not just pacifiers! Pacifiers and toys can easily be removed from the holder so that they can be washed. The pattern includes the pacifier holder pattern that you can crochet in an assortment of colors, and the 4 sport ball appliques: baseball, basketball, football, and soccer ball.
