This is an easy pattern that creates a sweater by wrapping a single, long, rectangular wrap around your body. The stitch pattern used to create the wrap is one of my favorites. Alternating between solid rows and mesh rows, the fabric created is a great combination of being lacy and solid, so that it drapes easily. A photo tutorial is included for wrapping the wrap around the body to create the sweater look. This wrap sweater can be made to fit any body shape and size! Feel free to use any weight of yarn you desire, to create a thick or thin sweater.

Man, it is hot up here in the northern hemisphere! Summer is truly upon us and I’ve seen some lacy clothing come out of storage and have a day in the sun. Summer is perfect for crochet and it seems that each year, every season, I see more and more crochet in stores, online, and on the runway. Hairpin lace is a classic crochet technique that people may not know is crochet. It was originally crocheted using a lady’s hairpin as a loom. As I researched for this essay, I became fascinated with the history of hairpin lace.

Years ago I visited a home where the living room was decorated with a nautical theme. Being a nautical enthusiast and self-proclaimed maritime expert, I would do the same to my own room given half the chance. Coasters are necessities for protecting furniture from the inevitable danger posed by cups of liquids. Here are four nautical themed patterns for coasters. These earrings may not be the traditional Fibonacci-based crochet pineapples, but looking at the finished project made me crave fruit. They’re a quick and fun project you can do in many “flavors” of yarn and beads. The number of beads give the earrings some weight, but they’re still quite light and easy to wear.
