Sharing crochet as a social group or with a friend who loves it as much as you do is one thing, but teaching crochet in a workshop is a little different. However, it can be a joyous experience and one worth trying for those who are between jobs, need a fun part-time job, or perhaps, you are looking to become an entrepreneur.
Either way, in the world of crochet, you have a plethora of inspirations and opportunities. A great idea is to put your years of crochet wisdom to good use and facilitate crochet workshops. It’s not as complicated as it may sound at first, especially, if you are not familiar with facilitating a workshop of any kind.

If you’ve ever been around babies you’ll know how important bibs are for keeping their adorable little outfits clean. Handmade bibs are easy to make and so much fun to design. Using cotton insures the durability of the piece and washes really well, two essentials in baby products. This bib ties at the neck with braided straps. Embellish the front with the starburst pattern or choose your own appliqué. It’s sure to make the little one wearing it very happy!

I know I don’t have to convince you how wonderful it is to experiment with color in your crochet. The popularity of color changing is evident by just looking at all of the patterns with colorwork here on Crochet Spot, for example Amy’s newest baby bib pattern (check out the one in the middle!) Color enriches our lives and adds excitement to our projects. Previously I never thought of crocheting in variegated yarn as “colorwork” but that was before I really dug into the topic.
Be fresh & colorful. Pin this.

Hedgehogs are some of the cutest creatures, and though I haven’t yet had the opportunity to get one of my own, I hear they make very good pets. As an old time collector of hedgehog paraphernalia, I thought it was about time Crochet Spot had some of its own. Crochet this adorable hedgehog using a variation of basic stitches for some basic shaping techniques. It’s simple and fun, a perfect element for that woodland blanket, pillow, or you name it! |

This sparkly embellishment can be made in a wide variety of ways just by changing the yarn color and beads. It can be used as an applique or as as an element in a piece of jewelry. It’s a great way to use up scrap yarn– make a bunch and use them to make necklaces or garlands or cover a bag or blanket with them. |

When designing baby products you can let your creativity go wild. Children love bright colors and splashy designs which make choosing the perfect project that much easier. With this set of three baby bibs you can supply any child with their very own, handmade bibs that will last much longer than any store bought product. Choose between an embroidered bib, a round desin, or square motifs. Here’s a good tip: use cotton for an easy washable and longer lasting product. |

I have been so excited and inspired by art journaling and mixed media techniques! Crochet is not the only craft in my life, but I always want to incorporate it into my artwork. My major influences in art journaling and mixed media are Christine Urias, Traci Bautista, and Kathy Cano-Murillo. Aren’t we lucky to have so many wondeful artists at our fingertips through the magic of the internet?
During this tutorial, I will show you how to add texture to your flat cards or scrapbook embellishments by crocheting around them. By the end of the step-by-step tutorial you will have a finished embellishment.
I would look great on your Pinterest board.

Tired of making socks with tiny single crochet stitches? This second version of the quick socks uses a even taller crochet stitch than the first version. The pattern uses treble/tripe crochet stitches to work up even quicker. No need to worry about the spaces created from taller stitches, each stitch is linked together to create a solid fabric. This sock pattern is crocheted from the toe up to the leg in one piece (no sewing required) so you can try it on as you go. It is extremely adjustable, since it can be crocheted with any weight of yarn for any foot size you can imagine, from babies to adults, women and men, it’s all possible! You can adjust the length of your socks from ankle socks to knee highs.

Even dolls need something to keep them snug and warm when the temperature drops and snow covers the ground. This shrug, with its simple shaping, does the trick. Switching between round and flat crocheting makes an easy open-front shrug. |

Well, hello again! Every day we have more interest in this year-long challenge. The Ravelry thread is pretty lonely. I’ll try to drum up some business there, but go ahead and link over, too.
Today we’re going to talk about the other side of WIPs and UFOs: calling it quits and getting your yarn back! Just need to let you know – this is a completely valid solution. If you have a WIP or UFO you’re just done with, by all means, frog it and enter the challenge! This froggy talk was inspired by the fabulous JodieBodie who asked “What criteria do you use when deciding to frog a project?”
