My reasons then were so that I could make snowflakes, and here I am today making a variety of crocheted projects. I want to offer you these three original snowflake patterns. When I was interviewing for my teaching job in Mexico, the principal scheduled our meeting at about 10:30 A.M. As I walked across the campus to get to her office, I passed the kindergarten playground and the air was filled with the joyful squeals of laughter and happy chatter as the children ran and played. They were princesses, sailors, police officers, mamas and daddies. They were big blue whales, lions, puppies, & duckies.

I was sure the principal must have scheduled me right then on purpose. Who doesn’t delight in the sheer joy of children at play? It was a very happy time.

Welcome back to How to Weave in Ends! In part one, we talked about the importance of weaving in yarn tails and a couple of ways to do it. Now I am going to show you what to do when working the tails into the row ends isn’t a good choice.

In the same way I showed you how to weave the tails into the single crochet border, simple weaving in behind a few strands of the stitches in the pattern piece is fairly quick and great for pieces with a wrong side. I recommend this method for solid stitch patterns like the one in the picture below.

Tip #2: After weaving a tail in, give the material a stretch so that the tail will look more natural and you can clip off any ends that show.

A Guest Post by Tara Cousins. I’ve been crocheting a long time, but just recently started making crochet doll clothes for 18″ dolls. Since my little girl just turned 3, she’s finally interested in playing with my old American Girl doll and dressing her up, which prompted me to design my own patterns. The first item I started playing around with making is the doll’s shoes. In fact, they are pretty easy to make and to customize (with a strap, or make into boots). You can also use this basic idea to make baby shoes!
