Summer Crochet Food Round-Up
By Caissa "Cami" McClinton – 1 CommentThe kids are out of school and it’s undeniably summer up here in the northern hemisphere! That means it’s time for some favorite summer activities like gardening, camping, and cooking out! Summer is so much fun that sometimes we let crochet fall to the wayside because we’re busy with different things to do. However, we here at Crochet Spot are fully in favor of summer crochet, and Rachel’s even got some tasty patterns to keep your hook working whether it is on the front porch while sipping a sweet tea, by the pool in the summer sun, or even relaxing in the air-conditioned comfort of your living room.
The neat thing is that a lot of them correspond to some favorite summer pastimes! And they’re also doubly delicious because (yum) they’re food!! Nom nom nom!
From the Crochet Garden
What is sweeter than summer pea pods? Emily wrote this charming pattern called “Peas in a Pod.”
While the harvest may not be for a while, do you have any eggplants growing in your garden? Whether or not you do, you can certainly crochet one using Emily’s Eggplant Play Food pattern!
I love eating fruit! We just harvested some bananas which grow in our front yard! I suppose I could make some, too, with Rachel’s Play Fruit Set.
Camp Crochet
Did you ever go to sleep away camp? How about camping out in the woods in a tent? I have a few fond memories of sleeping under the stars, and nothing tastes better after a long day of hiking than a s’more!! Rachel has the most adorable Amigurumi S’more version of that campfire treat here!
Crochet Cook Out with Treats
What’s on the menu for your next cookout? Will you grill up some juicy burgers? You could also stitch up these Hamburger Coasters! Thanks, Rachel!
Yarn is calorie-free, so indulge in two desserts! Rachel baked up some Yarnalicous Cupcakes, and Emily picked up an Ice Cream Sandwich for each of you!
Are you going to cook up some crochet this summer? What do you think of crocheted food? Did this post make you hungry? Please leave your thoughts, questions, and ides in the comments below!
